Do the Montreal Canadiens have flaws…?
Absolutely…
But guess what… SO DOES EVERY OTHER TEAM IN THE EAST!!!!!!

@ArponBasu Hope he is out for the season and playoffs. Too small, lost in the D zone every shift he is a liability that Marty overlooks
English

@mndamico @PatrickDenis20 @CanadiensMTL If not Laine then Xhekaj as a forward to keep these cheapshot guys in line running Dobes.
English

@PatrickDenis20 @CanadiensMTL Je crois qu'il y a plus d'options que ça 😅

Avec la blessure à Anderson qui va jouer demain en Caroline ????? @CanadiensMTL 🔵🔴⚪🔵🔴⚪

@mndamico seeing xhekaj getting the hat shows that he is respected and needed by his fellow teammates. Not the best player out there but keeping them safe.
English

@paultanasi Marty will wait.till we lose an important piece of the habs if this keeps up with no consequences or toughness
English

@EricEngels so this is what it has come to Hutson having to protect the goalie because of Marty's hate for toughness.

@MitchyGallo @colton_mason18 Gallo after the 1st round exit then revisit your comment
English

@Northernmoose31 @colton_mason18 The Islanders don't care about Xhekaj lol
English

@MitchyGallo @colton_mason18 so can we afford to lose Suzuki and newhook etc to goons. This doesn't happen with xhekaj in the lineup or both xhekajs. Top guys are looking around who is going to defend us.
English

@MitchyGallo @TSN690 @seanrcampbell 1st round exit sad to say will be beaten up because Marty and his non physical game
English

Campbell vs Gallo!
Hot Topic:
How much damage do you think the Montreal Canadiens could do in the playoffs?
@tsn690 @seanrcampbell

@StuCowan1 Last few games and again tonight running Dobes, Hutson, and no one taking issues with it.
English

@OLearyO @StuCowan1 Can fire.Marty anytime tired of his bullshit
English

@StuCowan1 MSL’s arrogance & over confidence is starting to rear its ugly head.
Bergervin was also arrogant and full of himself and when he got fired, I don’t recalll any tears being shed by anybody in the fan base or the press!
English

Martin St. Louis didn't like being asked this morning if there would be any changes to his lineup tonight against the Blue Jackets. He said a couple of days ago he will no longer announce lineup changes or his starting goalie ahead of game time. #Habs

Habs coach Marty St. Louis to reporters today: “Are there any good questions today? Ask me some good questions.”
English

@StuCowan1 No one has the balls.to.ask the real questions anyway, maybe ask what he he is going to do when his team of softies get roughed up in the playoffs?
English

@MitchyGallo stop poking a dead horse Monty is not being talked about so give it up. Get to a relevant question
English

Seriously question, not looking for arguments.
For the many that think the Canadiens “kept turning to Montembeault” over and over and they tried to force him as number one.
Which starts did you not agree with and when did this truly happen?
It’s certainly a narrative but which games are evidence of this happening? And how many?
I think they handled the situation all things considered perfectly?
Where did they go wrong?

La paire Guhle-Carrier est-elle en train de devenir la meilleure paire défensive du Canadien?👀

@Expos_2020 @MitchyGallo Exactly, the only way we can win is to outscore the opponent but 3 plus goals, cNt hold a 2 goal lead, happy to play for a tie, this doesn't work in playoffs. Sorry if they make it, sucks to be not confident in the habs with Marty at the helm playing mind games
English

@MitchyGallo They won because they played on their strength going forward more offense outscore the opposing team with 5+ goals 😂

Here's my three takeaways from tonight's 7-3 Montreal Canadiens' win over the New York Islanders brought to you by Snap Bar Sportif in Rigaud.
1 – The power play is clicking
The Montreal Canadiens’ power play is absolutely on fire and has been a big reason for their recent offensive success. They don’t pick up a big two points in the standings without it delivering in key moments.
A lot of that success is coming from Juraj Slafkovsky and his work in the bumper position. He scored on a creative set play, drifting back into coverage on Montreal’s first goal. He then made a great backhand pass to the far side on the second and served as an effective decoy before Cole Caufield ripped a beautiful shot in tight past Ilya Sorokin.
Everyone on the power play knows their role right now, and they’re completely in sync. Three goals tonight.
2 – Secondary scoring comes through
The second line badly needed a goal, and Alex Newhook delivered with a big one while the Canadiens were trailing in the second period. It’s tough to win as a one-line team, and a lot of the conversation coming into this game was about the mistakes that led to the tying goal in Detroit a couple of nights ago.
It hasn’t been the best stretch lately for Ivan Demidov and Oliver Kapanen, but this could be the kind of goal that gets them going again and restores some confidence.
3 – Guhle has a big impact
There have been stretches where Montreal could only truly rely on three defensemen, but over the last couple of games against Boston and now the Islanders, Kaiden Guhle has played some of his best hockey of the season.
Guhle brings a combination that no other Canadiens defenseman really offers. He opened the game with a big hit on Anthony Duclair, played Matt Barzal hard in the second period, and consistently took away time and space. He also blocked four shots, made a strong offensive play on the Newhook goal, and then scored the game-winner on a point shot that took a favorable bounce.
When Guhle is on his game, the Canadiens’ defense becomes much tougher to play against.
Bonus takeaway... Yes, Mr. Saturday night Cole Caufield had a hat trick and five points ;)
