“I am sending a warning to the Attorney General. In 2028, you would be in opposition. If you are not careful, you will go and meet Wontumi in Nsawam — he will be out of prison, and you will be the one inside.”
— Minority Leader, Hon. Alexander Afenyo-Markin, warns Attorney General Dominic Ayine and NDC politicians.

@tv3_ghana The AG WILL M will soon use her as prosecution witness against you if this is true.

@Joy997FM @JoyNewsOnTV The legal system and the courts should have waited for him to return. How could they have sentenced his clients in his absence?
Like how

@TheeNewsRoom Must they arrest everyone for derogatory comments ?
Is this a criminal or a civil case?
Who’s is making the complaints and on whose behalf?
English

🇬🇭 JUST IN:
The Cyber Vetting and Enforcement Team (CVET) has arrested 49-year-old Rita Konadu, also known as “Mamaone” (TikTok: the_onlymamaone1), at Juaben in the Ashanti Region over alleged offensive and derogatory remarks directed at President John Dramani Mahama and First Lady Lordina Mahama in a TikTok post.
She is being transported to Accra for further investigations and the necessary legal processes.

@tv3_ghana If the case was lost in court, why are these guys trying to win the case in the media?

Chairman Wontumi Convicted: The logic of going after kingpins is perhaps one of the most useless arguments I have heard so far. The evidence shows that Chairman Wontumi is not even a kingpin. - Kofi Tonto, Spokesperson for Bawumia

@Clicksonc101 @utvghana The law was made for some other people (me relate Joe). It wasn’t intended to bite politicians and the rich. They didn’t know they’ll be out of government this soon. If only they could turn back the hands of time. 20 years is just too much.
English

@utvghana You who closed the defense case and decided to abandon your client to face the law on his own didn’t know his offense comes with jail sentence? a law that was reviewed by npp and sentence increased from 4 years to 20 years or more can’t be complaining about the usage of the law
English

@DennisMiracles Good point but the dollar argument & the rhetorical question about who has changed dollar is misplaced. When importers benefit from a strong cedi and buy rice, sugar etc for less and clear same items for less, it translates directly to more affordable rice sugar for the people.
English

There are very serious issues to analyze in terms of the value this country is getting from the two political parties.
These things cannot be confused and covered with rhetorics by the NDC government.
It’s been 18months since they took office. Not a single, life changing policy has been introduced.
The only thing they attempted, nkokor nkitinkiti too has failed as their branch executives have used the chicken for pepper soup.

@ElikemKotoko Are you pronouncing his guilty even before the investigations would be over for court process to start? Eeeiii Senior Judge. A man is innocent until otherwise pronounced guilty by a competent court of law with the appropriate jurisdiction over the matter.
English

@konkrumah I completely agree with @konkrumah on this. This is not a good practice. Miracles may be a thorn in the ruling party’s flesh but this guy sit on several tv and radio programs. What prevented them from arrested or inviting him for investigations. When it’s wrong it’s wrong.
English

The use of arrests and detention as a tool to intimidate political opponents by this government is just shocking. When a man is easily locatable, there is no reason for which you will arrest and detain him on a Saturday to be investigated the ff week. The precedents being set by this govt just undermine all the decades of progress we’ve made as a country on matters of rule of law.

English

@Shac_man_ They’re part of the problem but how can you exclude leadership from the problems of this country or Africa?
Do you pay taxes to media houses? Or you’ve seen government budget that has been allocated to the media?
Do you want the media to solve the inadequacy of beds in Korle Bu?
English

@DontdoYawa While it’s important for such calls to be made, call it freedom of speech, citizens who through their indiscipline threw rubbish into gutters & inappropriate places, built in waterways, tiled the entire compound (concrete jungles) advice yourselves and resign as citizens of Ghana
English

@TheeNewsRoom How can social make people act like this. In which a tragic situation, he is busy recording the process instead assisting. Hmmmm

🇬🇭 A heartbreaking video has surfaced following the recent flooding in parts of Accra, showing residents struggling through muddy floodwaters while attempting to pass a baby to people on top of a building roof for safety as heavy rain continues to pound the area.
The disturbing scene highlights the severe impact of the flooding on affected communities.
English

@Yaw_Akey This is an unfair comparison even though the timing is someway be.
The picture on the left was a funeral service for those who died in the helicopter crash. The picture on the left is not the funeral service for those who had lost their life’s in the floods. Two separate events
English

@Great8_Grace @cdrafrica Operators of airlines run them as a businesses.Competition sometimes brings about fair pricing; in its absence those running such businesses decide how they abuse their customers. That notwithstanding you can’t have everyone flying especially when flight is not the cheapest option
English

@cdrafrica Ghana keeps expanding its aviation network while many citizens still struggle to afford domestic flights. Growth should be felt by everyone, not just frequent flyers.
