FT: Spain🇪🇸 0-0 🇪🇬Egypt [Friendly] 2nd half was a clear step back for Egypt. All Spain, and it was a minor miracle that they didn't score. Chances aplenty including a few goalmouth scrambles. Still, an away 0-0 draw against Spain will look pretty good for Egypt on paper. Can't shake the feeling of uncertainty heading into the final couple of months before World Cup time. Like the team's biggest weaknesses have been masked by strokes of good fortunate. That's not to say there haven't been obvious positives. Things could certainly be much worse. As mentioned the day Hossam Hassan was hired, I'd rather have him leading the team than Rui Vitoria, but that's mostly an indictment of Vitoria. But after two pretty much best-case results against Saudi Arabia and Spain and the successful revelation of Haissem Hassan, no doubt the coaching staff will be singing its own praises, which will be echoed by media. We'll all certainly be dissecting the positives and negatives as we countdown to the big show.
