The whole point of a physical copy is that it's yours. Lend it, shelf it, sell it, hand it to your kid in twenty years. GTA 6 just threw all of that out. No disc. A code in a box. The day Rockstar's servers go dark, so does your "copy." The last major publisher that still respected physical media just sold every one of its customers out for a few cents of margin. This isn't a physical edition. It's an empty box with homework inside. I have a wall of games I own outright. The biggest launch of the decade won't be one of them.

Honest and Unpopular Reviews No. 8 Bill & Ted's Excellent Video Game Adventure (NES) This is one of the worst games on the NES. You bounce around time zones grabbing items and there's no logic to any of it. No map, no direction, no hint that you're doing the right thing. Rufus is the only one who tells you anything and it still isn't enough. Then there's the music. A few bars on a loop that never stops. It grinds away the entire time you're wandering around lost, which is the entire time. Playing it muted is an improvement. What gets me is how easy this should have been. Two characters everyone liked, a time machine, and all of history to build levels out of. LJN had everything and did nothing with it. This is one of the games that earned that rainbow its reputation. Nothing about this one is excellent. I rate this one a 1 out of 5.

Minimalism is one of the worst lifestyle trends of my lifetime and I'm glad I escaped it. Over 15 years ago I bought into the concept. Boxed up almost everything and put it in storage. Kept a handful of current gen games on the shelf, a couple of posters on the wall, and that was it. Own less, be free, all of that. And for a while I told myself it felt good. Clean surfaces. Nothing extra. It only took a couple of years to break. I started missing things. Actual things sitting in boxes in a storage unit. Games. Movies. Stuff with history attached to it. And I started noticing something else: everything around me had no character. My space looked like a rental listing. Beige, empty, and cold. It could have belonged to anyone, which meant it belonged to no one. That's the part nobody tells you about minimalism. It doesn't just remove clutter. It removes evidence that you exist. Every shelf you empty is a story you can't tell anymore. So I went the other way. Pulled things out of boxes. Started collecting again. Started enjoying things again. Now I sit in a room surrounded by 30+ years of games, consoles, and memories, and it feels more like freedom than an empty room ever did. Keep your history. Keep your hobbies. Keep the stuff that makes your space yours. That's not clutter. That's character.

@NostalgiaPro It soon gets out of hand. Mine started when my wife and I got all my old consoles from my parents house. It started small. Now 10 years later it has gotten out of hand to the point it is now insured 😆 most games in here have a story too. love your collection and mindset 👍

@calumjcraig My vinyl collection is out in the living room and starting to grow a bit. I think I have around 30 records currently.

@NostalgiaPro For exactly this reason I'm really regretting ripping and selling my (fairly extensive) CD collection about 15 years ago. Never had a huge physical game collection, music was more my thing. Thank fuck I still have my vinyl.
