@slime7476 @Babelyawn if there was more funding for mental health services maybe he’d be there around professionals that can handle his condition. For him to be imprisoned, he’d need to commit a crime(like the one he did) that’s the law unfortunately. I’d pay an extra 3% in taxes to keep em away.

Judges consider mainly the current crime and take old convictions or mental illness under contextual consideration. US v Salerno confirms detention must be for known imminent danger. Not the case here. Idiot

We are not discussing no bail, which is what those cases/law are about, we are discussing $0 bail vs a level, say $10,000 or $100,000, many misdemeanors with priors are at these amounts, & given that his OWN FAMILY DID NOT WANT HIM ON THE STREET, would have kept him in jail.
