Then please explain why my brother's Catholic coworker and his brother were making jokes about how many Jews were *actually* killed during the Holocaust. Please explain why a Catholic college was making nods to their antisemitic crowd. I'm not in Catholic circles, so I shouldn't be seeing this irl. Yes, the lies are rooted online, but everyone is online. It needs to be addressed and fought by Catholic leaders and Catholic individuals.

I agree with Emily that he's sort of been caught unawares by a lot of this (as have many of us) & also kind of just trying to figure out where to go & what to do next. Charlie's death is a generational marker, it has & will impact a lot of different people and things. Then, you add in this vile behavior towards his family & company, that's a lot to deal with & navigate.

There’s absolutely no question now that “Catholics for Catholics” is an intentionally subversive organization looking to damage the church and discourage good people from pursuing the faith. What Matt Walsh is still doing on this roster is beyond me.

There are people thinking that screenshot must be edited but nope. “Cooked” has been slang for “done for” since at least the start of the Victorian era (probably also related to the term “Your goose is cooked”), so Gen-Z’s use of it is more a resurgence of the slang than anything. But it is fascinating how trends can create a sense that something is more modern than it really is by our association of it with a recent trend.

I completely agree with all of this. Im not even in that sphere really & I feel it. There's something much bigger at stake here that is under the surface & something really evil & dark crawling around the edges, clawing at everything. It's more than a fight for democracy or country, or even faith. Something is more than it seems.
