Clown manager brings Varland in the 7th, but not yesterday in the 8th when they were still winnning…can’t make this crap up. Being really exposed for what he is, a single A manager #Bluejays50

John Chayka on the reports of Auston Matthews potentially looking to depart the Maple Leafs.

What is your faith in Chayka making a "well executed trade"?
Little-to-none for me.
Joseph K. Knight@Needlesmasher
@NHL_Watcher The Leafs lack depth across the lineup. A properly executed Matthews trade could address that. When Quebec traded Lindros, their organization won the cup with that lineup, albeit in a different city.

🚨🗣️ | Paul Scholes on Arsenal NOT deserving to WIN the League:
“Look, I love seeing Manchester City drop points as much as anyone, but first of all, football has to be fair. Thierno Barry’s first goal should have been offside, simple. We cannot talk about integrity only when it suits us. If City are going to slip, it should be through proper football, not poor decisions.
And honestly, if Arsenal win the league at this point, it won’t feel like they were the best team, it’ll feel like the rest of the league has just been awful. Too many teams dropping standards, too many favors, too much luck falling their way, Credit to Arsenal for taking advantage, but let’s not act like luck hasn’t played a huge part too.
if they actually go on to win it I will say it straight to their faces: it is not going to be because they are the best team in England. No chance. It is simply because the rest of the teams in the league are absolutely awful right now. It is a league of massive underperformers. Liverpool is dropping silly points, United is rebuilding for the hundredth time, Chelsea is a mess, and now City is getting robbed by bad decisions.
Arsenal are not playing this incredible, untouchable football that people want to pretend they are playing. They are just getting lucky, and luckier, week after week. You watch their games teams are missing open goals against them, the referees are handing them favors or punishing their rivals, and the other top clubs are constantly tripping over their own feet. The consistency from the big teams this year is zero. Arsenal is just the team making the fewest stupid mistakes in a season full of them.
That is not being a team of greatness. That is just surviving a terrible year for English football. If Martin Ødegaard and Saka lift that trophy in May, they don't need to tell us how brilliant they are. They need to look up to the sky, thank the football gods for their unbelievable luck, and send a thank-you card to the rest of the league for being so incredibly poor”

🚨 Antoine Griezmann on Arsenal vs Atletico Madrid:
“Champions League officials can do better. It looked like they were on Arsenal’s side. Two clear penalties weren’t given. Gabriel made contact in the box, and it was overlooked. An Arsenal defender stepped on my toe, and it was also ignored.
At this level, these decisions matter a lot. We work hard all season to compete, and moments like these can change the outcome of the game. I’m not saying we were perfect, but key calls should be fair and consistent.
It’s frustrating because we felt we deserved more from the match. We have to stay focused, learn from this, and keep pushing, but it’s hard not to feel disappointed when things like this happen. I truly believe we were treated unfairly.”

🚨 Jamie Carragher on a controversial foul incident:
🗣️ “For me, that’s a clear foul—no doubt about it. I don’t understand how the referee doesn’t give it a a penalty
At this level, these are big decisions and they have a huge impact on the game.
You can see the contact, you can see he’s been stopped unfairly—it should have been awarded.
We ask for consistency, we ask for clarity, and in moments like this, you have to get it right.
Because decisions like that can completely change the outcome of a match.”
