As a lifelong Texas Democrat, I've been wondering how @jamestalarico would find a way to screw up the best chance we have to win a statewide election in perhaps two decades.
All he has to do is be likable and not crazy, but instead talking this way will be just enough to make sure that the middle of the electorate thinks he's a fool - and Ken Paxton will win an election he should have lost hands down.

There are deeper issues there, and we’ll never solve them if you simply reduce them to economic inequality.
