Richard Childress Racing has elected to suspend use of the No. 8 and will run the No. 33 at Charlotte Motor Speedway and beyond. Kyle Busch was instrumental in the design of RCR’s stylized No. 8 and it has become synonymous with Kyle and an important symbol for his fans and the NASCAR industry. No one can carry it forward to the level that he did. The No. 8 is reserved and ready for Brexton Busch when he is ready to go NASCAR racing.

Just to be clear because a few took this out of context. This morning when I saw the hospital news my stomach sunk. I felt something was off. And I hate it. My heart breaks for Samantha and his kids. The sport, the world was better with KB. I truly believe that. This sucks. 😞

Not gonna lie this @KyleBusch news has me shook. Serve sinus illness (based off the Glen I’m assuming) leading to hospitalization where races Days from now he’s ruled out. Ooof. Get better man. Fast. Something feels off in the force.

I’ve known @gbiffle was Hall of Fame worthy before he ever made a single trip to the western North Carolina mountains. His numbers are better than Burton's or Gant's. I'm sort of glad he did not get in this year because people would say it's the sympathy vote. His time will come.

No more guaranteed starting spots and more drivers trying to qualify is the only solution. No one needs to be put in situations they can’t handle. Just my opinion.

Couple things I want to put out here:
>Just starting both the Indy 500 and Coke 600 is a big deal. Finishing both races is a massive accomplishment. It is incredibly rare that someone finishes all the laps in both races (Tony Stewart in 2001 is the only one to pull it off) and while that'd be remarkable it shouldn't be the expectation
>However it goes I think it's cool to have another driver doing The Double so soon after Kyle Larson did it. I think it's especially compelling to have a woman driver doing it given the history of women racers at Indy in particular and I hope that industry especially pays attention.

Katherine Legge will attempt the Indy-Charlotte Double this year, running the Indianapolis 500 for HMD/AJ Foyt and NASCAR's Coca-Cola 600 for Live Fast Motorsports. If successful, she will be the first woman to do The Double. This is what Katherine said when asked about the possibility of the Indy-Charlotte Double one week ago at Watkins Glen: "I think it would be awesome, right? I think a lot of people have mentioned that, and I think it would definitely be something that e.l.f would be willing to do because they want to do all the groundbreaking, glass ceiling breaking, really cool stuff. So I hope that I get that opportunity one day down the road."
