@Promontorium @MikeWilnau California is probably the least typical place to use as any reference to normal. The politics and major industries there inflate all the numbers. 25/hr for Mcdonalds sounds like good money but youre living the same as a person making mcdonalds money in KY or AL.
English

@NotVictorRand @MikeWilnau Minimum wage for a McDonald's employee in California is $25/hour
English

My first welding job after I finished trade school was $11/hour.
I’ll never forget going to the gas station Subway on my lunch break and seeing the “Now Hiring- $14/hr.” sign to slap cold cuts on a toasted bun.
Our skilled tradesmen build America. They deserve better and we will deliver better.
Ibis Florida Man@Another_FL_Man
@Alpaca_Capital @upstatefederlst $18/hour for a steel welder at a shipyard. Might as well work at Starbucks.
English

@WeinerBarf420 @MikeWilnau Yeah id imagine gas stations in that local pay lower but who knows. Around here i think the major ones like sheetz and speedway are doing $16-19/hr, and i believe they do have some benefits. Speedway is probably less judging by the caliber of their people.

Star Trek exists in more than one world. It exists in the fantasy of science fiction - weird and wonderful things that play unimaginable possibilities of exploration and human endeavor. But it also exists in the fantasy of human beings, the perfection of human beings, the exploration that human beings have made since the dawn of time and the continuing exploration - physically mentally and morally. It’s that aspect of Star Trek that I’ve always loved, to look at something physically that doesn’t exist now by these talented writers & designers but also to tackle the eternal human questions the agonies, the ecstasies. Star Trek should exist for a long time to come based on those truths. I for one would love to see its continuity. It’s with sorrow that I hear about the cancellation of the new Star Trek series.
English

@fandompulse Shes wrong but Legacy didnt sound that good anyway.
English

Marina Sirtis says no Hollywood studio will make Star Trek: Legacy:
"Legacy is never going to happen. You know, you hate hearing the truth. There is not a single studio in America that is going to make a series where most of the leading actors are over 70 years old. I’m sorry, but just that’s just the truth. It’s just Hollywood. ... They decide what you want whether you want it or not. And I'll leave it at that."
Is she right?

English

@FmrRepMTG Ok, but you resigned so...
I like you, but the resignation was strange.
English

@VivekGRamaswamy Stop with this stupid reasoning. It will change nothing.
Youre not American and i want dont want you as governor.

@TheTrekCentral This can't make it any clearer: Nu Trek is Dead youtube.com/watch?v=cMeaQ3…

@ScottMcG15 @marc_parella @TheTrekCentral Yes, and those battles had meaning bc of the other 80% of the series setting them up along with impeccable character development. But Star Trek is not future space war stories, its the exploration of an ideal future of mankind and the questions surrounding what that means
English

@marc_parella @TheTrekCentral Nah, some of the best episodes of Trek had lots of action. Deep Space nine had great success.

🚨 BREAKING NEWS - #StarTrek: Starfleet Academy Is Cancelled!
This is a BREAKING Star Trek News Story! Early today, on March 23rd, Variety broke the story that Star Trek: #StarfleetAcademy will end with its second season.
Let us know your reaction to this news in the comments!
English

@WeinerBarf420 @MikeWilnau Which wages? Mine or the wage mentioned in the original post.
English

@NotVictorRand @MikeWilnau Brother that's gas station wages
English

@GreekTweeterV2 @MikeWilnau Not uncommon for trades, you usually have to buy your own tools. Sometimes you get a tool allowance. Ive been working on a automotive mechanics set for a while if the right oppurtunity pops up.
English

@NotVictorRand @MikeWilnau They do
you also get to buy your own equipment, so you're in debt for the first couple weeks checks
English

@CoachJoshWood @DoubleDownChief @Variety @paramountplus @SethMacFarlane That whole show just felt wrong as a whole, i think it gets credit as being the least bad out of modern trek offerings. Im not sure how to describe it other than it felt like someone telling me what i want to hear and knowing theyre lying.
English

@NotVictorRand @DoubleDownChief @Variety @paramountplus @SethMacFarlane For someone who grew up in TNG, it was a blast!
English

EXCLUSIVE: “Star Trek: Starfleet Academy” will end with its upcoming second season.
The show failed to find a significant audience, not ranking on Nielsen’s Top 10 streaming viewership charts at any point during its 10-episode first season.

English

@MikeWilnau Well sure they do one way or another, but im assuming you mean they are deducted directly.
Now i can say in Ohio welding jobs are advertised roughly around $25/hr give or take 5 bucks. A lot of it depends on the actual company and job etc.
English

@NotVictorRand Oh trust me, the benefits come out of your paycheck!
English

@GavinNewsom @GOP We can end the TSA Gavvy my boy. Let the Airlines provide security. Its just a jobs program at this point.

Here are the @GOP who just voted to block TSA funding. Make sure to send them a thank you note for your airport line:
