Quick math: $7.27 = federal minimum wage × 40 hours × 52 weeks = $15,080/year Federal poverty line for a single adult: $14,580 So if you work full time at minimum wage you make... $500 above the poverty line. Before taxes. Before rent. Before anything. And they say the system rewards hard work. it rewards something. Not sure it's that.

It sure does. Every Federal Reserve Note is an obligation of the United States government and they are issued into circulation in connection to debt instruments (bonds) which "back" them or which they represent. Every Federal Reserve Note in circulation is an evidence of, a fractionalization of, hypothecated debt.

@kwoods81 @ClimateWarrior7 Come on now. With the technology we have at hand today, there has to be a way to make that image look more misleadingly hot. Good job but make it look even hotter.

Nobody is denying that the climate is changing. It’s the blame that we have a problem with. You’re more than welcome to use this pic, because it probably suits the narrative you’re running with. The climate will change for the next year, decade, century and millennia thereafter. And FYI, the temperature has changed because we’ve gone from winter, to spring, into summer. It’s called the 4 seasons lad. It’s fucking Summertime, and in the summer it gets pretty hot. Enjoy the lovely UK weather, because next week it’ll be shit again. ✌🏻

@native_history_ If you live your life influenced by what others think or say, your freedoms are severely limited by your own mind. If you want to prepare and offer "traditional foods" just do it and stop trying to making an issue out of nothing.

A Native American student wants to bring traditional food for a school culture day. Some students love the idea. Others say: 📚 “School food rules should be the same for everyone.” Family says: 🪶 “Food is part of our culture.” For many Native communities, traditional food is more than a meal… It represents history. Family. Identity. Now imagine… Your culture has a special food tradition. But someone says: “Leave it at home.” Would that feel fair? So here’s the question 👇 Should Native American students be allowed to share traditional foods during school cultural events?

Vote? A vote is not needed. The parties to every transaction choose what object shall serve in representation of money for each individual transaction. That the dominant choice is made sub rosa and for Federal Reserve Bank products "as money" does not make that choice mandatory; for it is not. Nowhere in American jurisprudence or Federal Reserve Bank expressed policy is a Federal Reserve Bank product defined as being money. Money does not exist though nearly anything may be selected from the materials of the planet to serve as tokens in representation of the concept of money or "as money" as the Treasurer of the United States refers to it. No vote ever was needed by the people though one was taken within Congress for the purpose of the U.S. government adopting the Federal Reserve Bank privately owned products for use as one of the items accepted by the government in discharge of debt by passing legal tender in lieu of "lawful money". For starters, see 12 U.S. Code section 411. No human being is obligated to tender or accept any particular specie or specified object otherwise as money except when a dominant second party to a transaction specified a particular specie and buyer has no alternative but to do business with them.

@jtrumpio @BroadStreetOil @beauhightowerdn I mean what I said. I am not aware of the full range of fuel use tax distribution, if they include other than roadway related expenditures, are you? Can you list the factual end uses to which fuel taxes are put for any or several states?

@FractalBreak2 @therealaskilroy @kirawontmiss Restaurant is not stealing. Wait staff knows terms before taking the job. Customer also knows typical expectations of dining out costs. Personal behavior determines outcome and wait staff has no guarantee a tip will be forthcoming.

@BroadStreetOil @beauhightowerdn Fuel taxes are excise taxes earmarked for road improvement, or they were at one point. Eliminate the fuel use tax and the revenue for highway fund has to come from elsewhere else. What do you propose will be that source?
