Month 2, Week 1 of My Cybersecurity Journey ⏳
Switching my career from Dental Nursing to Industrial Chemistry, and now into cybersecurity has been one of the most exciting decisions I’ve made 😇.
Today marks two months into my training, and the progress has been both challenging and rewarding.
So far, I've learnt the foundation of cybersecurity, legal and ethical principles, and core networking concepts such as the OSI models, IP addressing, routing, switching, and subnetting.
On the practical side, I have:
1. Created a virtual environment
2. Deployed virtual machines
3. Installed Windows Server on VMware
4. Installed and used Cisco Packet Tracer to build basic network topologies connecting routers, switches, and PCs to understand network traffic flow.
This journey has opened my eyes to how broad and exciting cybersecurity truly is.
I’m looking forward to diving deeper into server administration, network security, and hands on defensive tools in the coming weeks 🥰.
