Ages 1-11 → yay! Daddy! I love you forever! Ages 12-13 → hey dad. Can we go to the stores? Ages 14-15 → yo bro, chill, It's not that deep. Ages 16-17 → I'm basically an adult... And i need a new phone, laptop, car, and a credit card would be nice since I'll be out with my friends ALL THE TIME (I added emphasis).

Note From Dad #433 Everybody Dance Now Hi Avery! I want to talk to you about Everybody Dance Now. Yesterday, I saw something funny on my phone. It was a video of the woman who sang the introduction to a very famous song from the 1990s. Her name is Martha Wash and she sang the iconic opening line “Everybody Dance Now” to the song “Gonna Make You Sweat” by C&C Music Factory. To put her face with that amazing voice I have heard so many times in my childhood was such a cool thing to see. Everybody who is older than 40 remembers that song very well. Just hearing that opening line brings back a flood of memories from my childhood. When I saw the video of her singing that opening line, I knew immediately I wanted to share it with Mom because I knew she would love it. I showed it to her as soon as I got home today and of course, she loved it. One of the best things about having friends or being married is that we get to share fun things with the people we love and share in their delight. As you grow up, I hope you surround yourself with fun, loving and positive people you can share your joy with. I love you! Love, Dad #notefromdad #90s #90skid #nostalgia #parenting @Martha_Wash

Note From Dad #432 An Infinite Number Of Things To Be Grateful For Hi Avery! I want to talk to you about an infinite number of things to be grateful for. The words “infinite” and “infinity” describe the concept of something being never-ending. Life is a blessing and there are an infinite number of things to be grateful for. I can be grateful for my health, my body, my muscles, my heart muscle which never gets tired and my blood, which keeps circulating even when I’m asleep. I can be grateful for my phone, the engineers of my phone, the testers of my phone, the people who delivered and sold me my phone and so on. We will find what we are looking for. If we want to find reasons to be unhappy, we will find them. If we want to feel gratitude, we can focus our attention on an infinite number of things to be grateful for. I am grateful to get to share these notes with you. I love you! Love, Dad #notefromdad #gratitude #grateful #parenting #blessed

Note From Dad #431 The Cold Shower Hi Avery! I want to talk to you about the cold shower. Earlier today, I was feeling sad. Something I wanted to work out did not work at all. I was starting to feel stuck, or wallowing in my sadness. I was in the shower and I got a voice in my mind which said to take a cold shower. I turned the water as cold as it could go. The freezing cold water hit my skin and it took my breath away. The coldness jolted me awake and took my focus off my sadness. When I was done, my skin was red but I felt such relief that the cold shower was over. As my body came back to room temperature, it felt great. Sometimes when our minds are stuck in a negative loop, our bodies can help shake us out of it. Doing a hard workout, meditation or a cold shower are ways we can use our bodies to help our minds. We are born with incredible bodies and minds. I hope you use both to help you serve others as only you can. I love you! Love, Dad #notefromdad #wimhof #mindbodyconnection #coldplunge #parenting

Note From Dad #430 Ted’s Brown Belt Hi Avery! I want to talk to you about Ted’s brown belt. Earlier today, Ted was promoted from purple belt to brown belt. It was great to see him recognized in front of everyone for his good work. He is well liked and well respected. Ted is very good at jiu-jitsu. His technique is excellent and he does not rely on brute strength. He is tough to deal with because he is very fast. He is sometimes called Turbo Ted for how quickly he moves. Ted succeeds in spite of his physical limitations. He is not big or particularly strong. When we saw him randomly at Dunkin Donuts it was surprising to see him in street clothes and realize that despite his small stature, he is formidable on the mats. One thing I will never forget about Ted was watching him roll with a black belt who was taller and about 50 pounds heavier. As a smaller purple belt, he got the bigger and stronger black belt to tap out. That is the magic of jiu-jitsu and Ted embodies it. Watching him made me realize that if someone smaller than me can do impressive things, then maybe so can I. It is always a good idea to be around positive people who remind you that you can do special things. I am happy for my friend Ted and his brown belt. I love you! Love, Dad #notefromdad #bjj #jiujitsu #brownbelt #purplebelt @leftardo10

Mamdani Admits of NYC Exodus, Still Urges Wealthy to Foot the Bill: “Amidst being in the wealthiest city in the wealthiest country in the history of the world, we already see an exodus of working- and middle-class New Yorkers. So I don't have a hesitation in asking those who make the most money in the city or the largest profits to pay a little more so that everyone can actually stay in this city. It's also something not just about justice or the ability for working-class people to live here. It is also about ensuring that corporations can continue to attract top talent to this city.”
