Makes a lot of sense but wondering if they need the sale to happen first before adding anymore money. Plus Giolito won’t be ready for a while and Canning will come back eventually. Still want to make the add though.

@SergioMQuintero @CFahrenthold11 Why would he be built as anything but a regular starter? Holds velo has breaking stuff now healthy. No limits on him this year he pitches as deep into games as he is good that day

@imboredtw1tt3r @heyscan At points he was 93-95 touching 96 last year but he couldnt maintain it. So if he is touching 98 now this early his in season velo might look more like that for a full year

The other lefty on backfields was Luis Guttierez. Signed out of VNZ at 17 started finding himself 2nd half last year and velo started ticking up. Now he's pumping 98 with good location all quadrants. Nice deep SL today as well. Could be helpful to big club during season.

In Randy Vásquez’s last 3 appearances of 2025 his 4S velocity averaged 95.6 mph with a 103 Stuff+. Before that it averaged 93.1 mph with a 87 Stuff+. If the new velo holds I’m very willing to buy into a true breakout.

Vásquez averaged 96.6 mph today on 4S. He was sitting 97 in his last relief appearance of last year so I’m not gonna write this off as a radar gun fluke. He looked like he was throwing max effort. He looked good.

@bkfan09 He gets a bad rap he is sneaky good on the base paths also shows up to play in alot of games per year. The hustle to first has always been a overrated thing. In the long run health is more important over 162.
