A country's safety is about its people. I once went on hikes hours away from the city with just one female friend in British Columbia, Canada, and came across White men who would do us no harm. But I would never do that in 2026. Now, I am afraid to go on walks around my neighbourhood alone. All it takes is coming across one group of migrant men to end up raped and murdered.
