Ibn Abbās رضي الله عنه said regarding the verse, “And do not think that Allah is unaware of what the wrongdoers do” “This is a consolation for the [one] wronged, and a severe warning for the wrongdoer” [Tafsīr al-Qurtubī] They spent years attacking, warning, accusing, insulting, backbiting and turning their blind followers against this noble man. And not just him, others from the smallest of teachers to the most senior of scholars. They have done so much damage to the youth However….Years on, these noble ones are still shining away with their teaching of knowledge, benefitting the ummah, whilst those who oppressed them are now fighting amongst each other. May this serve as a lesson.
