The moment we fill in the blanks before a discussion even happens, we end up reacting to narratives we created ourselves instead of what's actually being said. Meanwhile, she's doing all of this while clearly unwell and on the verge of losing her voice. That's not me patronizing her, just stating facts.

@Bbiatchy “If I were one of those parents.” But you’re not. You don’t know those kids or what their families have been through. Extend those parents the same presumption you’d want for yourself: that they know what’s best for their own families.

One thing I've been wondering about is this, based on what some of the athletes said in the podcast, they claimed that others also came close to drowning. If that's true, I'm surprised that no other parent has publicly spoken up about their child's life being put at risk. If I were one of those parents, I wouldn't stay silent. I would be asking questions and demanding accountability. And please don't tell me it's because they're educated or sosyal and don't need to publicize everything. Being educated has nothing to do with staying quiet when your child almost loses their life. Every parent has the right to seek answers and accountability.
