Untuk orang Indonesia, mungkin saya perlu sedikit konteks betapa seriusnya kejadian di Amerika ini. Bayangkan ada petugas imigrasi melakukan penangkapan di Jogja, dengan alasan mencari imigran gelap, dan menembak mati tersangka yang ternyata adalah warga negara Indonesia asli, perempuan berkulit sawo matang, tanpa ciri2 orang asing. Kemudian walikota Jogja, dengan tegas mengatakan, "Anjing, keluar kalian semua petugas imigrasi dari kota Jogja. Saya gak mau lihat muka kalian!" Dan sehari kemudian, ada kejadian yang sama di kota Surabaya. Petugas imigrasi kembali melakukan penembakan dan melukai dua orang.
