It is NOT a "both sides" issue. No assassination attempts on Biden. No assassination attempts on Kamala. No assassination attempts on AOC. No assassination attempts on any other prominent voice on the political left. No violence from pro-Israeli crowds. No arrests on the pro-Israeli side. No calls for death or murder of those who oppose the pro-Israeli side. Those who oppose gender ideology do not call for the death of those who disagree with them. Those who oppose movements like BLM did not call for the death of those who took part in the BLM riots. Social media is not flooded with videos from those on the right celebrating the deaths of those on the left or wishing harm upon them. It is not a "both sides" issue.

It's "make a 10". The "a" is important. It's part of the "count up" method many people end up doing. 17+16=20+13=33 127+198=200+125=325 If you try it the dumb way, you have to do: 8+7=15 90+20=110 But there was the 15, so running total is 125 100+100=200 on top of 125. So, total is 325. Issue is that too many teachers don't understand what they teach. So, they teach it wrong (technically what is written, but not the spirit of it) and can't adapt the material to pupils (offers other strategies). In the school I am, we are shown stupid things we forgot and we go "holly shit, I didn't know". For example, "alternate interrior angles" also carry than name when there are no parallels. We were always shown those with parallels. So, we all assumed it was linked to the parallels. Our didactic teacher showed us a situation with non parallel lines and said "those are alternate interrios angles" and we went "wtf, those lines are not parallel?", which she expected. It's one of the many examples where future teachers have misconceptions, because they were passed on as a kid by teachers who had the same misconceptions. Sometimes, definition change. It hapenned for scalene triangles. Before, it meant "any triangle, without any particularity". Now it means "a triangle with 3 sides of different lengths". A right triangle can be scalene now. Before, it couldn't, because the right angle made it particular. So, when filling the table of triangles, everything not fitting elsewhere would be put as scalene. Now, scalene actually means particular triangles and can be combined with rectangle. That is why it's hard to teach, between wrong schema and changing semantics.
