The closer we get to the draft, the more pissed I am that Darche pissed away that Colorado pick. Some say, “It’s pretty much a 2nd round pick.” Literal 2nd round picks include: Bryan Trottier, Zigmund Palffy, and Bryan McCabe. Brock Nelson was taken 30th overall. #Isles

@OptimisticIsles @WillChiarucci I can say the same to you. This is a guy on the decline. He's numbers were down across the board this year, and his advanced stats weren't pretty. I'd rather have the picks the #Isles gave up. But, we are stuck with him, so hopefully he can reverse direction.

@NotoriousMJT @WillChiarucci Open your eyes… the cap space has gone up drastically and there are no good free agents. Hence why Darche made a move that would help this past season and next year. Schenn would easily get 6X3 on the open marker. He’s a good player. We need another scorer but Schenn is good

Darche was in the right to make the Brayden Schenn trade at the deadline. Team was lacking physical punch, was going down 2-0 in a lot of games prior to deadline and was getting spanked in California. Cal Ritchie hit the proverbial rookie wall before Schenn got here. Hindsight is 20/20 however live the trade.

@OptimisticIsles @WillChiarucci Coyle is a better player (although he should not have gotten that contract.) Anyone who would give Schenn that same contract deserves to be immediately fired.

Take a look at Charlie Coyles a contract and take a look at the increasing cap number. I’m sorry but you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about

@OptimisticIsles @WillChiarucci What the #Isles need is speed, not more grit. If Darche tried to trade Schenn tomorrow, no one is giving him a first round pick (not to mention the goalie prospect he gave up), NO ONE. Total overpay.

@NotoriousMJT @WillChiarucci The islanders traded the 3rd round pick received in the Palat trade and that was to get rid of Drouin and his contract. Schenn is a good player. Islanders were and are seriously lacking grit. He is a good add and will be good for us for the next 2 seasons…

@WillChiarucci What really doesn't help now is having a declining Brayden Schenn on the roster at $6.5M for two years. I'd much rather have the picks. No one was giving up what Darche traded away to get that guy. I hope he has a good year, because the #Isles are stuck with him.

@WillChiarucci When you are watching a lot of talented players go off the board between pick number 13 and 115 (or whatever their 4th round pick is) at the draft, you’ll know. If not then, certainly when Darche lets Lee walk because he brought in a redundant piece at the trade deadline.

@NotoriousMJT We find out over the course of time whether or not the trade was awful or not.
