The amount of food delivery drivers I’ve seen out today whilst canvassing is mind blowing 👀 As someone who never orders online food delivery. Can anyone explain to me why making an omelette or a sandwich at home isn’t better than forking out £15-£20 for a take-away? 🤔

Time and energy. If you spend 8 hours a day in an office with other worker drones trying to not throw a keyboard at the back of someone's head, it drains you. You're not physically tired, but you are mentally depleted. You want dinner to be ready and waiting for you, not for you to have to make. When wives were housewives and mothers, they did this. But feminists engineered society to make this impossible. So people spend the equivalent of 4 hours of work to eat slop that's slowly killing them - 5 days a week. You're welcome.

Neither does the Green Party staff): • Operations Officer: £23,000–£25,000 → ≈ £12.64–£13.74/hour. • Social Media Officer: £25,000–£26,000 → ≈ £13.74–£14.29/hour.

The Mail doesn't think seem to think workers, of all ages, are worth £15 an hour. That's fair pay for a fair day's work, with money workers will put back into the economy. We are the party for workers. Vote Green on 7th May.

Are Chinese people in Britain chased down the street for what Beijing does to Uighurs? Are Russians here hunted for Ukraine? Are Afghans attacked over how women are treated back home? No. But Jews are singled out, blamed, and targeted for Israel. The hypocrisy isn’t even subtle.

Don’t particularly feel sorry for any business owner whose enterprise is only viable because they pay poverty wages.
Peter McCormack 🏴‍☠️🇬🇧🇮🇪@PeterMcCormack

A minimum wage of £15 would end my coffee shop, it would have to close, as would many other businesses. I’ll explain for the economically illiterate. Staff costs are currently half our costs, a £15 minimum wage is actually more than £15 an hour for the company, because you have to add: - 12.07% holiday - Sick pay - Maternity pay if and when required - National insurance - Pension contributions These costs would mean the shop loses money because remember, energy costs are up, rates are up, regulations are up. Now you can pass these costs onto the consumer - that would mean charging a lot more for coffee, people won’t pay it. The likes of Starbucks and Costa can, because they have economies of scale. The independent doesn’t. Now the little socialist will say well this is your fault, if you can’t run a business that can afford to pay its staff properly, but the little socialist has never run a business and does not understand the dynamics. Now I could pay some staff off and fill those hours myself or reduce us to one staff member during certain periods - but this proves the point that a minimum wage costs jobs. There was a time when these jobs were done by kids, perhaps on the weekend, paid a lower wage, no holiday and no silly employment rights. Perhaps they were even paid cash. The dynamic worked and small businesses like this could operate. It was also a great first job. Sadly now it isn’t worth employing entitlement youngsters at this level of pay. So alas, I don’t need the stress, the business would close, a number of jobs would be lost. Economics is about understanding these dynamics, no vibes. The cost of living is not solved through passing on inflation to the business, it is solved by ending high inflation and creating prosperity. This is what socialists don’t understand, they can’t create prosperity, they can only destroy it.

More tax rises are looking likely this autumn. UK government borrowing costs just hit their highest level since 2008. The 10-year gilt yield pushed above 5% on Tuesday for only the third time since the Iran war started. No other developed economy has seen borrowing costs rise this fast in the past two months. Here is why that matters to you. The government has £23.6 billion of headroom before its own fiscal rules force it to act. Oxford Economics say that if yields stay where they are now, £7.5 billion of that cushion is already gone before the autumn budget has even been written. When the cushion runs out the only options left are tax rises or spending cuts, because those are the rules they wrote for themselves. The IMF has already forecast the UK tax burden hitting 42.1% of GDP by the start of the next decade, a peacetime record. That was before this latest jump in borrowing costs. For the average household that has already meant £4,500 more in tax since this government took power. The autumn budget is when the next round of decisions get made. Follow me to stay informed

The UK's threat level has increased to “severe”. This follows a rising Islamist and Extreme Right Wing terrorist threat, and yesterday's abhorrent antisemitic terrorist attack. People should be vigilant as they go about their daily lives, and report any concerns to the police. Our world-leading police and security services continue to work, day and night, to keep our country safe.

This will not make major headlines, but it should be one of the stories of the decade. We’re talking national security threatening levels of organised crime. Are we saying these very powerful mafia gangs don’t have influence on our police and government officials? You know this will be directly linked to the rape gangs also? Rape gangs. Sectarian corruption. Immigration fraud, money laundering, drugs, prostitution, terrorism financing…… I’ll say it again, we need a dedicated force of armed police, on par with Italian Finance Guard (70k) or RCMP, that combines anti org crime ops and immigration enforcement that can go into these neighbourhoods, tooled-up and without fear and kick doors-in and apprehend en mass.
Merryn Somerset Webb@MerrynSW

Half of all conveni stores and 25% of all takeaways in the UK are linked to organised crime in some areas say trading standards. Add in revolting candy shops nail bars and barbers. All in plain sight. Usual assumption is that black econ is around 10% of GDP. Maybe a lot higher?

1/ In January 2008, PC Neil Sampson walked towards a man with a knife. He took seven stab wounds doing it. His dog Anya, already bleeding, kept hold of the attacker so her handler could live. That same man, Essa Suleiman stabbed two people yesterday in a terror attack in Golders Green. Here’s what happened next. 🧵

If you're shocked by today's stabbing terror attack on British Jews, you must have been living under a rock for the past few years. Not a single one of the men who drove through North London in 2021 shouting “F*** the Jews, f*** their daughters, f*** their mothers, rape their daughters and free Palestine" were prosecuted. Not one. So why is anyone surprised when British Jews are stabbed in broad daylight a few years later? The message went out loud and clear that anti-semitism was allowed on our streets. I’m so sick of this. Sarah Sackman, MP for Golders Green, still banging on about “far right” antisemitism. Which group is responsible for each recent attack on Jews in the UK?

@metpoliceuk @TRobinsonNewEra LEO here. Suspect was on the ground, disarmed & disabled. At that point he was a threat to no one. And at that point, your “brave” officer repeatedly kicked him in the head. This act would result in termination & criminal charges at any dept. with a shred of integrity. Not yours.
