Today prog has just told us we will hear a tribute to Jenni Murray from Harriet Harman. Might have been better to get someone to pay tribute who actually stuck up for her after she was isolated for her view that men should not be able to identify into women's spaces and sports.

I don’t think I can take another 3 years of this… I really don’t. They say “Look back, but not for long”. But it’s so hard when you’ve experienced how things CAN be… not perfect… but just real. Nostalgia is now a physical pain…

PE Teacher Banned for Life – Just for Saying Migrants Should Respect Our Laws or Leave A PE teacher in Darlington has been banned from ever teaching again – not for anything he did in the classroom, but for a few posts he made on his personal X account. Sam Everett wrote things a lot of people quietly think: "If you don’t respect our laws, culture and way of life you should leave, nobody is forcing you to stay." And in another reply: "They can live in societies where their values are accepted, it isn’t here. Leave. You won’t be missed." Someone reported him, the posts were dug up, and the whole thing went to a misconduct panel. The panel actually cleared him of racism or sexism. They said he showed genuine remorse, had a spotless record before this, deleted the posts, and posed no risk of doing it again. Their recommendation? Let him keep teaching. Then the Department for Education stepped in and overruled them. Banned him indefinitely. Their reasoning: the comments were "offensive", suggested intolerance, and one mention of using the navy to stop Channel crossings was enough to "undermine public confidence in the teaching profession". So here we are in 2026: a teacher with no complaints in his entire career loses everything because he expressed a view – on his own time, on his own account – that millions of ordinary people share. Even the people who investigated him thought it was okay for him to carry on. This isn't really about racism or misconduct anymore. It's about whether you're allowed to have an opinion that doesn't match the official line on immigration. Step outside that line and the system will make an example of you, no matter how clean your record is. What kind of message does that send to every other teacher? Keep quiet, or else.

@Notts1674 @benonwine I do believe that the idea was to sell off property to people who lived in them as they had no other way of vacating them. The money from the sales were supposed to be used for new properties to be built. That would mean people needing one could get one.

@benonwine I was only 2 when Winston Churchill was last Prime Minister, but I have a lot of respect for him. However, in my lifetime, and at an age that I understood anything about politics - it must be Maggie Thatcher

@benonwine A lifelong love and appreciation of the arts begins at a young age. I remember sitting cross legged on the hall floor in infants school listening to classical music every morning, and queuing for tickets to stand on the balcony to see opera with my nan at age 7. Happy days

Head of British schools Sir Mufti Hamid Patel said restrictions in British schools on art, dancing, music, religious education was necessary not to offend Muslim students or their families. If schools start restricting art, music, dance or parts of the curriculum to avoid offending people, we have to ask a serious question. Where does it stop? Education should expand children’s horizons not narrow them. Do you agree?

2014, I was hospitalised for a suicide attempt. 2015, I was diagnosed with dysphoria and prescribed testosterone. 2017, I underwent a bilateral mastectomy. 2018, I attempted suicide again, mental health had worsened. 2019, I detransitioned and healing began. #DetransAwarenessDay

New rule for the X community: if you call me antisemitic, you’re now getting blocked. Instantly, permanently, and with no appeals process. I’m having a clear-out of malicious morons who disingenuously weaponise that word to silence legitimate scrutiny/criticism of Israel’s govt.

Why is Iran's new Defense Minister Javadi wearing a $35,000 Armani suit, $8,000 sunglasses and a $1.2 million Rolex?! Because this regime steals from the people. That's why. Disgusting.
