@StormslayerDev the only real difference i've noticed (from the trailer) is that courage offers a switch version. dusk is able to provide QoL enhancements while still being console accurate, so what else does courage have going for it when they're both more or less the same?

If you're wondering why there are two ports and what is the difference Courage Reborn will be more feature focused, Dusk was focused on console accuracy/speedrunning. If you thought Dusk was great wait until this drops, a lot of exciting things are coming!

Another thing that's difficult for me is trying to make the color palette (for both Duke and his sword) less homogeneous. Different shades of black/grey can only go so far, and I feel like I'm overusing the blue accents. I'd love to hear suggestions lol

I mentioned before that Duke's sword was basically a copy of Guts' dragonslayer and that's why I wanted to try to redesign it. Turns out it is REALLY hard for me. I spent 70% of my time drawing new versions of it which drove me mad lmao. Ah well

I had been chipping away at this drawing for roughly a week and at this point I think it's about time I give in and start a new piece. I like the changes to his clothing alongside removing the pauldron, but man the sword has taken up so much time to fix. One step closer I guess.

All of these redesigns (including Viktoria) are far from their end result but I feel myself getting closer with each drawing. Hope you think it's cool

One final note I want to talk about is his sword. Originally it was just a futuristic/cybernetic take on the dragonslayer from berserk, but after looking at the weapons from guilty gear I wanted to touch it up and have it turn into an energy cannon as well

This is Duke. The drawing on the left is roughly a year old, and the right I did yesterday. I wanted to see if I could fit a pauldron on the coat, but unfortunately it's either I'm too inexperienced to figure out a way to make it look good or it's just not possible.

@AJustFate4Fools it really is a test of patience if you enjoy the mecha genre. it was pretty upsetting when omega phenex got delayed to 2027 after having a steam page for roughly 2 years

I only realized this now after finishing it but she's definitely more of a Vergil clone than before which was completely unintentional lol. The white hair especially was more for aging her up because it's more interesting than her looking like Duke's sibling.

A much needed redesign of an old character. I accidentally put more time and effort on certain details while overlooking others, but in the end I'm satisfied with the change. I plan to give my other oc Duke an updated look, but I felt Vik needed it more.
