Wegmans is coming to Charlotte! 🛒 Here are four insanely extra things inside the city's first Wegmans store: wbtv.com/2026/05/25/4-i…

North Carolina families know a lot about the sacrifices made by American soldiers. The Old North State has consistently ranked among the top 5-10 states in overall military contributions throughout history. I don’t know a single native North Carolinian who isn’t closely related to an American soldier. My own family tree is full of them. Meet Papaw’s first cousin, Charles Hicks. Charles was the baby of his family. Like many hillbillies, he had limited options and saw the military as a pathway to success. He enlisted in the US Army on July 10, 1951, at age 19, at Fort Knox and was stationed at Fort McPherson in Georgia. In April 1953, Charles was deployed to the front lines in North Korea. He was KIA three months later. The whole community of Woodfin came together to honor his life at the Woodfin High School auditorium on September 26, 1953. Papaw was a pallbearer. Charles was only 21 years old when he died. He never married and had no children. This is why we observe Memorial Day: to remember and honor those who gave all. ❤️🇺🇸

On this Memorial Day, my heart feels heavy as I remember my brothers and sisters I served with who never made it home. We honor their ultimate sacrifice by standing up for the principles that unite us as Americans, defending our God-given freedoms, treating one another with aloha—respecting each other as children of God—and always striving for peace. Never forget. 🇺🇸

A New Spirit for '76. Includes President Richard Nixon's address to the American Revolution Bicentennial Commission on October 8, 1969, where he outlines their responsibility in planning the United States' 200th-anniversary commemoration.

I’m disgusted with our own party. I was told I wasn’t a “team player” because I wouldn’t go along.

We are saddened and heartbroken to share the news of the passing of Kyle Busch, a two-time Cup champion and one of our sport's greatest and fiercest drivers. He was 41 years old. We extend our deepest condolences to the Busch family, Richard Childress Racing and the entire motorsports community.
