@mwtingley @MHCNeateClegg Why “trash birds”? These may be the first/only bird species many people encounter and, thus, a very important part of growing one’s appreciation for biodiversity
This pejorative term perpetuates biases not only to birds, but to underprivileged human communities

Spring is here and the birds are nesting! So here is evolutionary ecologist and ornithologist @SahasBarve with Bird Support! How do messenger pigeons know where to go? Why are geese so loud? How do owls turn their heads so far? Sahas has the answers!:

While teaching my field class today I found a drone. I gave it to my grad student who pulled the SIM card and found the cause of the crash...Hawk (ID, @CinTyLeeEarth?) picks it out of the air, flies with it, and brings it down. Unlucky drone operator also shown.

@AndyJBoyce @FedEx I was already mortified and then laughing about our shipping “situation” when I read your emails, Andy
This picture, however, has me on a whole other level
English

@MSBbirds @AndyJBoyce @FedEx I thought about this, too (I sent them), since they are hybrid tags with a battery. However, they all still have their magnets on them to keep them deactivated.

@hectorology Things are dark, but darkness isn’t the absence of light … it’s the anticipation of it. Better time are ahead, Hector. What you are doing matters and progress comes when people listen before they act. We are listening to you

I love that eBird hotspots are like public parks and nature preserves and also the random pond next to Hardee’s
