Yesterday, Doctors in Distress founder Amandip Sidhu, Patron Adam Kay and CEO Ann Paul along with West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Chairman Phil Townsend, CEO Matthew Coats, and Chief Nurse Kelly McGovern planted a memorial tree at Watford General Hospital to commemorate healthcare workers who have died by suicide. Adam reminds us that 1 doctor in the NHS takes their life every 3 weeks, and 1 healthcare professional every week, a reality that is often silenced by the stigma, shame and taboo that entrenches the culture of the healthcare profession. Thank you to all the staff, doctors and nurses who attended the ceremony, including our wonderful Ambassador Dr Sam Anthony.
