@davidzweig It's also just ridiculous that the government can get away with not paying employees for work when it's an absolute labor law violation for every other employer.

Needless to say, if congressmembers didn’t get a special expedited security process the TSA debacle we’ve been dealing with for years, let alone the current situation, would never have happened. Delta’s revocation should be permanent.

NEWS that Congressional staff are not going to like- Delta is suspending its special congressional desk service for members of Congress until the shutdown is over. @ajc ajc.com/politics/2026/…

@KelleyKga I have always really appreciated your data driven approach to numerous subjects. But why are you supporting this proposed law? Voter fraud is basically non-existent - numerous studies and reviews have shown that. If there's nothing to fix, then what are we doing here?

@visiblecare I will believe it when I see it. I don't have my email and that's the only option your agents give to very the account. I've been through this several times today, I've even escalated to a manager. What are you going to do differently this time around?

@Visible Which means I lose the phone number I've had for decades. Ridiculous that there is no other way to resolve this. Please repost to @visible if you read this.

@FreeRangeKids Let's just take this to the logical conclusion and say that kids shouldn't be allowed to cross the road, period. No more walking to school. The parents should drive them. Safely buckled in their seats. Traffic will flow smoother, too.

School crossing guard ("lollipop man" in British parlance) told not to high five kids. It is too distracting! Takes too much time! Let's turn everyday life into an efficient assembly line! bbc.com/news/articles/…

@LetGrowOrg did you see this heartbreaking story? What a messed up society that arrests parents for letting kids do something that should be a normal part of growing up. A terrible tragedy made even more inhumane by the unhinged response of the police nbcnews.com/news/nbcblk/no…

@NPCA Seems like a great opportunity to flood the zone and complain about all of the negative information being shared by this administration. Washington DC is basically a national park. Just get some influencer to post photos of a few qr codes and there you go.

This week, National Park Service rangers were forced to put up QR code signs at every single national park, asking visitors to report so-called “negative information” being shared there about past or living Americans.

If you see one of these signs meant to erase our history, here’s how to use it for good instead: Scan the code and tell the admin. to support park staff. Ex: Thank you park rangers for telling the full American story!

@MEPublicHealth This is such a great example of "is the juice worth the squeeze?" Does a daily tick check really prevent tickborne disease in any meaningful way? Has that been studied?

Do you check for ticks daily? A daily tick check is important to help prevent tickborne diseases. Use tweezers or a tick spoon and make sure to check all over your body for tiny ticks. Find more information at maine.gov/dhhs/vectorbor….

@DTWillingham @educationweek I think this is just a survey version of "kids these days" retrospective thinking. The older generation always thinks the younger one is lacking in some way or another.

Survey via @educationweek shows K-12 educators think students are less independent than a decade ago. I don't know of survey data in higher ed, but every professor I've talked to has the same perception of college students, esp post-pandemic. edweek.org/leadership/are…

@DanWuori This makes me think of my recent experience watching a total eclipse. A complete feeling of awe. It's funny to think that feeling was a regular part of my life decades ago. And it makes kids' expressions of astonishment at seemingly everyday occurrences more understandable.

My next book - a journey through child development from prenatal to age three - will be called Wonderment…and for good reason. There’s not a lot that arouses awe in us as adults. After a point we’ve mostly seen it all. We’ve been there and done that. But there once was a time that each day held pure magic as the world revealed itself to us for the first time. New sights, sounds, tastes… Which leads us to this little one, shared to IG by mahrooniaziii, who looks on in wonderment at her very first sight of snowfall. What do you think she’s thinking? What a treat to experience the world anew through the eyes of our children.

@VPrasadMDMPH I find it ridiculous to think that you are so focused on minutiae like this. Your insights on preventative screening evidence, COVID policies, etc. have been eye opening for me and many others. Your current vendetta about inconsequential fed spending, not so much.

I find it ridiculous to think that taxpayers should pay for federal employees to have newspaper subscriptions. You should pay for that with your own money after taxes. Please, be real. What's next: HBO max?

@VPrasadMDMPH Twitterizing the government isn't about going after government waste, it's about dismantling government. You can agree with that approach, just don't try to pretend it's something else.

You’re never too busy to show kindness to a child. When a delay in deplaning begins to make her preschooler feel anxious, this Mom thinks fast: quietly singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star to avert a meltdown. The strategy works temporarily, as the three-year-old begins to sing along. But watch what happens as she starts to lose confidence in her public performance… all the surrounding passengers join her in song, turning the moment into a shared celebration. This is what community looks like. This sweet video was shared to TT by emmylikess.
