@PolitlcsUK bans are easy but they don't fix the problem. what about rationing jet fuel or investing in alternative fuels seems like a more practical solution than just targeting private jets

🚨 NEW: Zack Polanski has called for the Government to temporarily ban private jet travel amid potential jet fuel shortages "While ordinary people pay the price, the super rich are simply getting in their private jets at will – wasting huge amounts of jet fuel"

Should obviously be permanent given private jets are both a) unambiguously unsustainable with a livable planet earth, b)not necessary for anyone to live an ordinary life but, OK

@ad64701 @doxntme Because you can see that nobody is on the tracks. Or how many are on the tracks. Im amazed that people aren't thinking through the *actual* difference. For it to be the same there needs to be a huge mass of what *could* be people, but you dont know, already on the tracks

@ArchieHall A sensible definition would surely be, anything above the reasonable upper projected level had Iran not been bombed. Its not like there won't be data available for this.

Parliament isn’t structured like a workplace for proles (discipline, social regulation etc). It’s structured like a gentleman’s club for the landed gentry, which it was until relatively recently. One of the many ways in which Britain remains a basically pre-modern country.

@Carlychurch15 @EdwardDanSmith @AyoCaesar No, you misunderstand my statement. People who get power as a result of votes can and do harmful things, and that is bad. The solutions to that do not involve eliminating voting. Voting as an act is not harmful.

@NussbaumSimon @EdwardDanSmith @AyoCaesar Of course it is, voting can bring about a change which can negatively impact you economically, socially etc Just look at Iran, they voted for the situation they now find themselves in so I completely disagree with your statement. 16yr olds shouldn’t be allowed to vote

I'd argue that a 16 year old being able to vote is substantively different from a 50 year old being able to have sex with them, but that's just me!

@AyoCaesar You’re the retards that want to give 16 year olds the right to vote, are they adults or not?

@AyoCaesar But giving 16 year olds the right to vote is also a cliff edge. They have no experience of life as a working adult.

@helloKi30596224 Is your assertion here that Sixth Form style of politics is undesirable, bad, embarrassing? I'd characterise it as typically more honest, direct and values-driven than professional politics.

Two MPs kicked out of the Chamber for unparliamentary behaviour, purely so they can put a clip on social media for their supporters. Appalling conduct.

If Starmer becomes Prime Minister he will be like a little child sitting in one of those coin operated cars you find at supermarkets that go backwards and forwards, turning the steering wheel round thinking he’s driving but not actually in control of anything
Steven Swinford@Steven_Swinford

Keir Starmer has won the backing of Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock & one of world's most influential financiers Fink told the Wall Street Journal that Starmer has shown 'real strength' in bringing Labour back to centre-ground of British politics thetimes.co.uk/article/blackr…
