@Crusadergryper @ZoieNolan4 @Genki_JPN i would say it's a number of different reasons. the games are shorter to complete, alot of people are into horror genre, besides recent FF games being more action based, i don't think kids nowadays will play a turn based game.

@NxtAnime Game length doesn’t have anything to do with dev cycles. All of these games have been in pre production for years too.

@arcane9s @Genki_JPN in this moment in time, FF can't get any graphically better unless it wants to aim for rockstar level, which i feel they don't need to do, i feel FF17 needs to go back to basics, a proper party system... similar to FF7 remake, build on FF7 remake/rebirth combat and party system

@NxtAnime @Genki_JPN Yeah I do think they have said that they see that as a part of the brand's identity, but frankly this is something I personally would be very VERY okay with them moving away from as an idea. I think a lot of people would agree on that.

@wowowood @arcane9s @Genki_JPN i mean compared to other games outside the JRPG genre yes, but within the JRPG genre itself, it's all matter of opinion...i don't think no JRPG graphically touches FF15, that ain't me dogging on games like xeno 3 or persona 5.

@NxtAnime @arcane9s @Genki_JPN That was only apart of 7, 8, and 10’s identities. No game before or after has had this as a major facet of why they were created. Sure, the games have usually been pretty, but over 80% of the numbered titles have not had this as their main focus

@arcane9s @Genki_JPN that isn't FF identity, FF identity has always been push the limits of graphics when it comes to the JRPG genre.

@Genki_JPN I've been saying for so long now that the solution to this is more smaller scale FF games. They don't all have to be over the top big graphics large scale high budget triple A games. A FF with the budget of a Persona game or something along those lines could easily be amazing.

@Genki_JPN That's single player and RPGs in general. Multiplayer games, especially yearly releases like COD and f2p games like fortnite, have done serious damage to the industry.

@ZoieNolan4 @Genki_JPN its a silly comparasion, when RE max takes 9-10hrs to complete, FF takes around 40-50 hours...so of course the time to make them will be longer.

@Genki_JPN This is the main reason people are still engaged so heavily with Resident Evil. We've been getting a new Resident Evil game like every 1-2 years for a while now.

@_Deez_Games God forbid you're allowed to show off and hype your game a couple months before release to hype people up, as some weren't...if it ain't 90 or above on metacrtic with this amount of hype and market, its a failure, yet we'll complain when a game doesn't do enough hype or marketing

This game best be mind blowing after the months of non stop posts hyping up it's mix of 500 genres

Disregarding their individual quality; is anyone else tired of PS1 Japanese RPG's games feeling the same? Publishers saw the success of FF7 and copied it which makes the genre blend together.
