@hintondm @LTHEchat @ARLT_SIG Yes, it really should be a value based system. Helping people ti understand and interrogate what that value looks like is important. Frameworks like this are helpful. How do we ensure it's effectiveness

Q1. Do you think it is important to have antiracism perspective embedded in the use of technology in the sector? And Why? 👉Do share with us tonight an example you have experienced/seen of how technology was used from a racist angle! @ARLT_SIG #AntiracismLT #LTHEchat

@suebecks @LTHEchat @ARLT_SIG There is something about being in the room with others. Conversations tend to flow better. Online meetings most times don't allow that much needed after-session interaction.

@Chri5rowell @LTHEchat @ARLT_SIG Doing what is needed like being part of a mentoring scheme is needed to move the needle in the right direction. However, how do we ensure that those mentee are also benefiting directly from that mentorship scheme. That needs addressing.

@LTHEchat @ARLT_SIG A5 I work in a department where as a staff group we represent over 30 countries. I enjoy learning about them. At least twice a year we have a department social gathering and bring food that represents us. #LTHEchat

@_PXavier @LTHEchat @ARLT_SIG We do see that happening often. Sometimes, because you don't move in the circles of those in the position of power, your work is not recognised or is not seen as important.

@LTHEchat @ARLT_SIG Q5 never enough really, but have been supporting a promotion application and advocating for an overlooked but incredibly valuable colleague. Why? Because their contribution should be recognised but wasnt #LTHEchat #antiracismLT

@LTHEchat @ARLT_SIG A5 I have used my network in a variety of ways to provide opportunities for minoritised colleagues, that won't normally get the opportunity due to systemic exclusion. The key for me is breaking down those systemic exclusion barriers. #LTHEchat #AntiracismLT @ARLT_SIG

@LTHEchat @ARLT_SIG A4 I'm working with a couple of students who've had a rough ride in education to HE. Nothing special, just getting to know them and enjoying working with them as they're gaining confidence #AntiracismLT #LTHEchat

@Adam_Tate1 @LTHEchat @ARLT_SIG I agree. I believe there is a real opportunity here to develop students into compassionate leaders with a better view of the world and racial justice

@hintondm @LTHEchat @ARLT_SIG and I would add, be bold. and then beyond that, how do we help people get to a point where they see this as an ongoing learning journey, fully embracing it.

@LTHEchat @ARLT_SIG A1 Gen AI is a real concern right now, with the way it can promote normative perspectives. What will happen to emerging marginalised academic identities when they first get filtered through the hive mins? #AntiracismLT #LTHEchat
