Water systems are increasingly dependent on technology, which exposes them to new threats. Evidence shows that general guidelines are not enough: practical solutions, technical assistance, and operational capacities tailored to each territory are required. @OEA_CICTE

These workshops are part of the project Enhancing Water Security in the Trifinio Region, financed by @theGEF, implemented by @UNEP, and executed by the Americas Water Program of @OAS_official in coordination with the Trinational Commission of the @Plan_Trifinio.

By integrating technical perspectives and local experiences, a better understanding of water dynamics in the region is achieved. This coordination among countries and stakeholders is key to turning diagnostics into actions toward more sustainable and resilient water management.

We continue in Esquipulas, Guatemala🇬🇹, with the trinational TDA/SAP workshops for the Trifinio Region, as the process advances from the territory. This space allows for a deeper analysis of the environmental and social challenges facing the Lempa River Basin.

We agreed on the vision of #Development as a shared endeavor 🤝 Economic, sustainable, and human development isn't the job of a single institution; it’s a partnership among governments, multilaterals, legislatures, and society.

Today, #OASdevelopment and @ParlAmericas held a special session with OAS Ambassador of Belize, Nestor Mendez, and parliamentarians from 23 Member States to commemorate 30 years of the Inter-American Council for Integral Development, and to continue driving impact #CIDI30

Representatives from institutions, specialists, and local stakeholders have come together to share perspectives, experiences, and challenges, and to jointly build solutions to strengthen water security in the region.

Today, in Ocotepeque, Honduras 🇭🇳, we launched the Trinational Consultation Workshops for the TDA/SAP of the Lempa River Basin—an essential space to advance sustainable water management in the Trifinio Region.
