Optimization was using thinner paper and only 64 colors of paint. We had to model low poly cause the artists had to draw each polygon by hand.

Our GPU was a bunch of artists hunched over their easels frantically drawing whatever the CPU told them to. We didn't have keyboards, so we just banged rocks together.

Just turned 43. Realized I have been making games professionally or teaching how to make games for just about half my life. Back in my day we just made the bossiest person the CPU, and all day they would scream out draw calls.

I am writing the rendering chapter in my book, just made some goofy renders in the Unreal Engine of my robot arm floating in the sky. We all need a little more floating robot arm in our lives. #MAYA #gameart #UnrealEngine
