You have trust us with tremendous responsibility to turn this country away from its present direction. The eyes of the people across the country will be focused on all of us. The hopes of thousands of Gambians are centred around us.

The people of Gunjur, I once again extend my condolences on the loss of our dear son, Alhagie Sanyang. I write this with a heavy heart. Your gathering here today is a testimony of the hope you have in the UDP.

Tonight, as in other regions of the country you have sent a clear message that The Gambia is ready for change that will usher in sustainable development. I urge you all to continue to canvas for votes, continue to sell our 5-Point Agenda and together we will build a better nation

I can continue to hold my head high as you demonstrate leadership in the examples you set. You continue to demonstrate for all to see your desire for a better nation.

Sitting at home and watching the Rally in Brikama gives me inestimable pleasure knowing that the foundations upon which the party was built is rock solid. You have shown resilience despite the obstacles thrown at you.

Gambians should not allow Ousainou Darboe and Halifa Sallah; Ousainou Darboe and Essa Faal; Ousainou Darboe and Mamma Kandeh; Ousainou Darboe and Abdoulie Jammeh or Ousainou Darboe and Adama Barrow to spark any violence during these times. We are one and the same people.

I urge all Gambians to desist from violence as far as this election is concerned. Kairaba Jawara and Sheriff Dibba contested for elections but there was no violence; Pierre Njie and Jawara contested as well but there was never violence too.

I want to remind everyone that The Gambia is one; I want to remind everyone again that all tribes in the Gambia made the Gambia a country. This country’s name isn’t Mandinka, neither Fula nor Wollof but the Gambia.
