not about “the state feeding kids instead of parents,” it’s about the fact that children aren’t responsible for the situation they’re born into, and letting them go hungry to make a point about personal responsibility is cunt behaviour. People support things like free school meals because hungry kids struggle in school and end up worse off long-term, which affects everyone. Acting like every family that needs help is just lazy or unwilling to look after themselves ignores reality and comes off more like judgmental thinking than a serious argument about responsibility. What if it was your daughter’s child?

@OE_67 @elbiemit Why is it the states responsibility to “feed children”? I personally wouldn’t take anything from the state as I’m responsible for me & my family. The mentality that this is somehow a good thing is crazy. Give people opportunities to look after themselves & their families FFS

15 years ago, we made prescriptions free in Scotland - while people south of the border pay £9.90 an item. For as long as the SNP is in government, we will always protect free prescriptions. On May 7th, vote SNP.
