OGUN POLICE ARREST TWO SUSPECTS OVER UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FIREARM, RECOVER LOCALLY MADE PISTOL
Operatives of Ifo Division, Ogun State Police Command, have arrested two suspects, Adeola Mathew ‘M’ aged 47 years and Rasheed Omoniyi ‘M’ aged 48 years, over conspiracy and unlawful possession of firearm, following a credible intelligence-led operation at a criminal hideout in Ifo area of Ogun State.
The arrest was effected on Friday, 9th May 2026, at about 6:30 a.m., when detectives attached to Ifo Division acted on credible intelligence and stormed a criminal hideout along Ibogun Road, NITEL Area, Ifo.
During the operation, Adeola Mathew was apprehended at the scene, while a search conducted at the hideout led to the recovery of one locally made pistol concealed within the premises.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the recovered firearm was allegedly handed over to the suspect by Rasheed Omoniyi, who was subsequently tracked and arrested by the operatives.
The recovered locally made pistol has been secured as exhibit, while investigation is ongoing to ascertain the source of the firearm and the suspects’ possible involvement in other criminal activities.
The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCIID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further discreet investigation and prosecution.

OGUN POLICE RECOVER THREE STOLEN VEHICLES, LIVE CARTRIDGES, ARREST TWO SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS
Operatives of Ifo and Sango Divisions, Ogun State Police Command, have recorded a major breakthrough in the fight against armed robbery and vehicle theft with the arrest of two suspected armed robbers, Mohammed Adeniyi Usman alias “Mandela” ‘M’, aged 48 years, and Abiodun Ogunojukan alias “Ilasa” ‘M’, aged 38 years.
The operation also led to the recovery of three stolen vehicles, two live cartridges, and foreign currencies.
The breakthrough followed sustained intelligence-led investigations into reported cases of armed robbery and vehicle snatching within the Divisions’ Areas of Responsibility.
Acting on credible intelligence on the 9th of May 2026, detectives of Ifo Division stormed a suspected criminal hideout at Adeleye Area, Itele, Ota, where stolen vehicles were allegedly concealed.
On arrival at about 4:00 p.m., operatives sighted suspected stolen vehicles within the premises and strategically laid ambush for the occupants who were absent at the time.
The operation yielded success at about 10:35 p.m. with the arrest of Mohammed Adeniyi Usman alias “Mandela”.
A search conducted on the premises led to the recovery of one Toyota Corolla belonging to a complainant, one Toyota Venza allegedly stolen at gunpoint on 26th April 2026 at Ilese-Awo, Abeokuta, and one Honda Crosstour reportedly snatched during a separate armed robbery operation at Ijoko, Ota.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect is part of a wider criminal syndicate involved in armed robbery and vehicle snatching within Ogun State and beyond.
Further intelligence-led operations on the 10th of May 2026, at about 5:00 p.m., led operatives of Ifo and Sango Divisions to Sango-Ota Under Bridge, where another suspect, Abiodun Ogunojukan alias “Ilasa”, was apprehended.
The suspect reportedly confessed to his involvement in the crimes and provided useful information assisting ongoing efforts to apprehend other fleeing members of the syndicate and recover additional stolen vehicles.
All recovered exhibits have been properly documented and secured, while the case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCIID), Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further discreet investigation and prosecution.

OGUN POLICE COMMAND ORDERS IMMEDIATE INVESTIGATION INTO INCIDENT INVOLVING OGITECH STUDENTS
The Ogun State Police Command is aware of an incident which occurred this night involving some students of the Ogun State Institute of Technology (OGITECH), Igbesa, and officers attached to Igbesa Division.
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, has ordered an immediate and comprehensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

CP BODE OJAJUNI ATTENDS OGUN STATE POLICE COMMUNITY RELATIONS COMMITTEE (PCRC) MONTHLY MEETING, ENGAGES STAKEHOLDERS
In line with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, on sustained stakeholder engagement and community partnership, the Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, with the company of the Deputy commissioner of police operations, DCP Murtala Bolanle, today attended the monthly meeting of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), where he engaged critical stakeholders on strengthening community policing and enhancing security collaboration across Ogun State.
The meeting served as a veritable platform for interaction between the Police and key community stakeholders, focusing on strengthening intelligence sharing, improving public safety coordination, and deepening trust in policing operations across the state.
Deliberations centered on consolidating existing security partnerships and enhancing community-driven approaches to crime prevention and early response mechanisms within local communities.
The PCRC Chairman, Comrade Lawal Abdullahi, commended the Commissioner of Police for his presence at the meeting, noting that it is the first time a serving Commissioner of Police in Ogun State has personally attended the PCRC monthly engagement.
He described the development as a strong demonstration of leadership commitment to community policing and pledged the continued support of the PCRC towards sustaining peace and security across the state.
In his remarks, CP Bode Ojajuni appreciated members of the PCRC and other stakeholders for their consistent collaboration with the Ogun State Police Command through intelligence sharing, advocacy, and community engagement, which have continued to strengthen operational effectiveness.
He reiterated that effective policing thrives on partnership, stressing that sustained engagement with stakeholders remains critical to addressing emerging security threats and ensuring public safety across all communities in Ogun State.

CP BODE OJAJUNI HOSTS NIGERIAN INSTITUTION OF SURVEYORS; ADVOCATES STRATEGIC COLLABORATION AND ETHICAL PROFESSIONAL STANDARDS
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, psc, FCSS, MNIPR, received a courtesy visit from a delegation of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors (NIS), Ogun State Branch, at the Command Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
The delegation, led by the Chairman of the Institution, Surveyor Abiodun Olufemi Liadi, paid the visit as part of efforts aimed at strengthening collaboration between the professional body and the Ogun State Police Command. The meeting also provided a platform for discussions on public safety and professional integrity.
Speaking during the engagement, Surveyor Liadi informed the Commissioner of Police about the existence of a comprehensive directory of all registered surveyors operating within Ogun State. According to him, the initiative is designed to prevent impersonation and curb the activities of fraudulent practitioners within the profession. He emphasized that registered surveyors are guided by strict ethical standards and urged the Command to leverage the directory in distinguishing licensed professionals from impostors.
As part of the visit, the delegation formally presented copies of the Institution’s Code of Conduct and the directory of registered members to the Commissioner of Police for official reference and institutional collaboration.
Also speaking, the Chairman of the Association of Private Practicing Surveyors of Nigeria, Surveyor (Pastor) Kayode Adekoya, assured the Commissioner of the profession’s robust internal disciplinary framework. He stated that any surveyor found engaging in unethical practices or conduct contrary to established regulations is subjected to stringent disciplinary measures, including possible revocation of professional license.
In his remarks, CP Bode Ojajuni underscored the critical role of the Nigerian Institution of Surveyors in national development. He noted that accurate surveying and mapping remain indispensable to infrastructural development, land administration, and the maintenance of peace and security within communities.
The Commissioner reaffirmed the Command’s readiness to collaborate with the Institution, particularly in the areas of intelligence sharing and public enlightenment. He further assured the delegation that the Command would sustain and honour all existing engagements and understandings established with the Institution under previous leadership, stressing his commitment to maintaining a strong and cordial professional relationship between both bodies.
CP Ojajuni also charged the Institution to intensify public sensitization campaigns against land grabbing and other land-related fraudulent activities. He described land disputes and illegal land transactions as significant threats to public peace and security, urging surveyors to play proactive roles in educating members of the public on preventive measures.
The visit concluded with an interactive session, mutual commitments towards deeper collaboration, and group photographs.
