There's this hotel in Choba, towards that UNIPORT junction. I lodged there because i was trying to get a place distant from where i was known. While at that hotel, i went out to buy food from the Chicken republic at UNIPORT junction. When i got back, one of the receptionists was hailing me and momentarily i got carried away and gave her 2k as a tip. immediately i mounted the staircase, she ran to me and told me to go somewhere and stay or party till morning, but i shouldn't party at their club or sleep in that hotel that night. I ignored her and slept off... By 1 am, my room door wasnt broken, it was opened! And i woke up to the pain of stick on my leg. These men were 3 in number and had used their stick to wake me. When i opened my eyes, they wore a red jacket, EFCC! The smallest among them already went for my phones and the second person picked up the carkey from the sidetable. Luckily, i move around with my taser, but this one had the shape of a torchlight. While one of them was going to the wardrobe to search my bag, i used the taser on one of them. I knew i couldn't defeat 3 armed men, i didn't make another move. By then, they've moved people who lodged across my room to the reception area. They didn't care to hear anything but were bent on calling me a yahoo boy. The older man among them asked me how i could afford a Tundra at my age if i wasn't a yahoo boy. The one with my phone pressed my power button and the screen came on, my picture in my uniform was my lockscreen wallpaper. He immediately notified the older operative through whispers, while he was still ransacking my bag. The older man said something funny, "espirit de corp" and i burst into laughter because these clowns are civilians, so how are we related. He inquired why i was laughing and i replied that we have no spirit of cooperation. He started preaching forgiveness that they were only working with intel given to them by their informant. He said i should have told them that i was a personnel and they'd have skipped my room. Anyway, they apologized, replaced my stuff to where they got them from, and left. Yes i was unharmed, but this brought me to the reality that most EFCC busts in hotels and serviced apartments are championed by the staff and management, for favors and monetary gains. Stay safe out there and always notify your loved ones of your locations, especially at nights.
