At OFP Baseball, we are a high school travel program with an MLB farm system infrastructure and a first class facility; this is baseball school. Head coaches can call the offense from the dugout. 3rd base coach as a basic set of rules they follow for sending players on plays to the outfield. Head coach usually will let them know if he wants them to see it through or go on contact with infield drawn in. 1st base coach is helping players read balls in dirt, getting sequence off pitcher to steal bases, encouraging them to get into scoring position/be aggressive getting to 3B, etc.. Most undervalued position on the field.

@OFPbaseballLLC @TheTruthFromBen Say what? If the 3rd base coach is also calling the offensive game, then it’s the most important aspect of coaching. 1st base coach will rarely win or lose a game, 3rd base coach if calling the game will most certainly win and lose games.

I overheard an incredibly interesting conversation at ABCA Coach said to his table of 6: ‘If I was a HC of our program right now, I wouldn’t be able to delegate to anyone else coaching the 3rd base box, it’s just too important of a role.’ Breathe buddy, you’ll never be a HC
