Not very knowledgeable about the whole Marble Hornets thing, but do they own the Slender: The Arrival license or is that exclusively from Blue Isle Studio? I think having that version of Slender in DBD would be the best outcome possible ngl

@RaisinHater_ @brown_brye81302 personally I think the chances of him being called "The Slender Man" are actually pretty high, they LOVE to use the OG name if possible. I just dont think they're gonna get the license AT ALL to even TRY that

@brown_brye81302 @OGDavidBaron even if they somehow manage to get slender chances are he wouldn't even be CALLED Slender Man bc of DBD's naming convention so the tentacles are pretty much the ONLY significant change

it makes me happy to see other people on here talking about it REALLY doesnt matter if its Modern Slender or Arrival, 99% of people are gonna see a tall white faceless guy in a suit and go "SLENDERMAN!" No one cares. That's just the truth of it. Surge Slender is NOT the same tho

@OGDavidBaron It really, truly doesn’t matter; if I’m playing as the tall dude in the woods I couldn’t care less if the killer name is the Operator or not. I’m just going to call him Slenderman. Tentacles aren’t much of a deal breaker for me either. They’re pretty much a take it or leave it.

@OGDavidBaron The original idea of his was kinda bad, you know? Some ideas were cool like the pyrokinesis, different suits for different eras, face only on film and the cults were cool but the idea of the government having a task force just for him is dumb af. Post-SCP btw

@DanV_Art Yes, the somethingawful forum posts were at best loose ideas, while the MH crews version of the character, The Operator, felt far more intertwined with the characters and the world

@MomentsB4Wind most people dont know the name, but you show anyone a picture of the Operator, and there gonna say "oh thats slenderman!" At the end of the day it doesnt matter what hyper mega death fans like myself think of the naming schemes. When ppl see Operator, they think Slender.

@wolfietronic356 oh theres so much that can be done. I'd like a killer that focuses more on passive effects over direct mechanics. I made an entire concept of Operator in DBD a bit ago detailing how Cameras would work, the actual Operator infection, and Op constantly appearing around walls.

@OGDavidBaron If it does happen I'm so curious what parts of the series they'd use for the operators abilities At least they have a name sorted out

@Staggiezz Its very heavily implied thru game mechanics that when u arent looking at him, he is walking towards you, then stops when u turn around, like a weeping angel. But yeah there is a full WALKING animation for him in Arrival, but obvs its not v good cause we arent meant to see it

@Staggiezz He actually does walk, we just don't USUALLY see it. The Operator specifically is seen walking MANY times through the Marble Hornets series As for SLENDER (which is a different entity), in Arrival, u can see he clearly walks towards u if he's stuck on an object, but out of LOS

One thing I am really interested to see is how would Slenderman even work in Dead by Daylight? I am not fully knowledgeable BUT.. Doesn’t he just teleport everywhere and not actually walk? So how would chases work? Help me DBDtwt. I don’t get it!
