When you come down from the Kilimanjaro, the Tanzanian govt usually issues you a certificate to authenticate your summiting Uhuru Peak. Considering that people are doubting your climb, I think it will do you a lot of good and shame the naysayers if you publish that certificate.

"There is no Network Coverage in my Village, I vote NO to Electronic Transmission of Results" - Orji Uzor Kalu Remember, Orji Uzor Kalu is 2 term Senator, was a Two Term Governor, a one Term House of Reps Member and a Former Presidential Candidate of the PPA. Yet, he couldn't bring ordinary Internet Connection to his own Village and he is proud of it.

Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe (Abia South) has tabled a motion urging that each senator cast an individual vote on whether electronic transmission of election results should be made mandatory.

LET'S CONSIDER PRIOR TO PROTESTING. Everyone is free to demonstrate. There is no question about that. Demonstrations are essential to democracy. But let us slow down a bit and be honest with ourselves about what happened yesterday at the National Assembly. The Senate did not ban electronic transmission of results. They did not say elections must be rigged. They did not wake up one morning and decide to “destroy democracy.” What they did was refuse to pass a rigid, one size fits all provision that mandates real time electronic transmission from every polling unit in a country as complex as Nigeria. And that matters. Nigeria is not just Abuja, Lagos, or Portharcourt with strong network coverage. We have riverine communities, border villages, forests, hills, places where even making a phone call is an adventure. To pretend those realities do not exist is not progressive. It is performative. The Senate’s position, whether people like it or not, is rooted in practical governance. They want INEC to deploy technology where it works, improve infrastructure, strengthen backups, and avoid a situation where elections are automatically invalidated because of network failure rather than the will of voters. That is not anti democracy. That is caution. What worries me, to be honest, is how quickly we now equate disagreement with bad faith. If you question the method, you are suddenly an enemy of the people. If you ask about logistics, security, hacking risks, or rural inclusion, you are accused of planning to rig 2027. That kind of thinking is dangerous. Law making is not activism. It requires patience, foresight, and an understanding that laws must work for the entire country, not just the loudest voices online or at the gates of the National Assembly. Yes, technology should be part of our elections. Absolutely. But forcing a fragile system into law without fixing the underlying problems is how you create chaos, endless litigations, and disputed outcomes. Sometimes leadership is not about yielding to pressure. It is about taking decisions that are unpopular today but stable tomorrow. We can demand better elections without burning down the institutions meant to deliver them. Democracy is not weakened by debate. It is weakened when we stop thinking. My Advise to @PeterObi is that he should start thinking before Acting.

"He was drawn to public service, discipline, and patriotism, and the unity of Nigeria as a one nation and one idea. " For a man that constantly put the advancement of his religion and Fulani race over the unity, commonwealth, and security of the nation? Buhari redefined nepotism by running the most bigoted administration in the history of Nigeria. The only thing he was drawn to his sadistic mindset. Only you and your family will be less without him.

TRIBUTE: WE WILL ALL BE LESS WITHOUT BUHARI. Muhammadu Buhari was the rarest of individuals to grace political life anywhere in the world: an incorruptible servant of the people. He was not motivated by pride, or by riches - the accumulation of which repelled him. He was drawn to public service, discipline, and patriotism, and the unity of Nigeria as a one nation and one idea. In his long service, first in the military he campaigned to keep Nigeria as a single country, and later briefly holding the position of head of state, he fought to tackle rampant corruption.   Later, as a converted democrat after the return of elections in 1999 he campaigned relentlessly to liberate Nigeria from becoming what he feared would be an elected, but corrupted, one-party state. Without Buhari’s refusal to back down, the disparate democratic opposition may never have united, and there would be no true multi-party system in Nigeria today. Once that unity was achieved, Buhari – who else? – was chosen as the opposition’s flagbearer. In 2015 he became the first candidate to win election over an incumbent, for Nigeria the first-time power changed hands peacefully between the victor and vanquished. His two terms in elected office coincided with worldwide economic challenges, and the threat from terrorism in the Sahel. He tackled both, creating new and welcome welfare programmes, and decisively breaking the power of Boko Haram. Facing down accusations of favouring the north, he created ranches for northern herders to protect the livelihoods of southern farmers, saving lives and fostering better relations. A deeply religious man, he was the opposite of partisan – enlisting a southern pastor as his two-time running-mate and regularly writing about Christianity and its relations with his own Muslim faith. After assuming office, he struck up a lasting friendship with the Archbishop of Canterbury, with tolerance and modesty as well as religious fervor being attributes they shared. After retiring from office, he returned to his farm and tended to his cattle, staying scrupulously out of the public eye and away from politics – always and intentionally refusing to comment. It was more important for this modest man to give a wide berth to his successor than to express any opinion, believing intervention in political affairs by ex-leaders was rarely merited, and more often a sign of a vanity he would never personally countenance. Muhammadu Buhari led a life full enough for many men. He will be remembered best by his own words: “I belong to everybody and I belong to nobody”. He was the best of Nigeria, and we are all less without him.

The Joy and Sadness of Sports Today, after my engagements at the London Business School, I had the honour of watching the Unity Cup match between Nigeria and Jamaica at the Brentford Stadium in the UK. The match ended 2-2 and was eventually decided by a penalty shootout, with the Super Eagles emerging victorious. It was not just a game—it was a moving celebration of our unity, culture, and the indomitable spirit of Nigerians, both at home and in the diaspora. Sitting among fellow Nigerians and friends of Nigeria, I witnessed once again how sports cement our unity, uplift us, and remind us of our shared hopes for a better, stronger nation. I commend the organizers for reviving this important event and for using it as a platform to showcase our heritage and the incredible talent of our young people. Congratulations, our Super Eagles, for making us proud. However, our celebration was cut short just at the train station going by the heartbreaking news of the ugly incident involving 22 members of the Kano sports delegation returning from the just concluded national sports festival in Ogun state who were feared dead in a tragic road accident. As we continue to support initiatives that promote unity and national pride, let us also spare a moment to reflect on the lives lost and the families who now mourn. My thoughts and prayers are with the families of the victims, the National Sports Commission and the Kano state Government during this difficult time. May the souls of the departed rest in peace. -PO

10. It is noteworthy that some Ikwerre Igbo elite bought into the ruse for gain. They switched code from distinguishing themselves from being Ikwerre-Igbo (which the British themselves had grouped as part of the Oratta-Ikwerre sub-tribe of the Igbo) in constrast to the Isuama Igbo (a core Imo Basin Igbo from Isuawa in Enugu State to Isuowu in Etche, and including; Isu-ochi, Isu-ikwuato, Isu-Ngele, Isu-Njaba, Isu-Otuakwu, Isu-Obiangwu and from Isu-Ohazara to Ihiala) to contrasting themselves with Igbo. Regretting the error of playing the enemies game a prominent Ikwerre leader, Senator Obi Wali, said to his friend, Mazi Phillip Nkwocha, before me: "Phil, our gamble about identity has failed!" Today, based on what his father taught him, his son, Ihunwo Obiwali, is an Ikwerre-reintegrationist-into-Igbo-fold activist. But, many of those his father's generation took to the Whiteman's Communion have not recognised that the church service is over. Gambling about identity is a serious affair. Go ask the African slave-time diaspora. Professor Chidi Osuagwu

7. It is clear that the British, judging from their hatred and anti-Igbo policies since and the career of Kay Williamson, never gave up on their policy of de-Igbonization, and Ijawization, of Riverein Igbo at the expense of the Igbo nation and British profit. It is also, clear, from their heroic treatment of Kay Williamson that the Ijaw are complicit, as default beneficiaries, of the genocidal British machinations against the Igbo.

The president didn’t provide answers to most of the questions,no clear depth and clarity when asked on subsidy the president failed to to say the paid subsidy till early this year and the government kept on lying they were not subsiding. The president couldn’t articulate how inflation will come down, he just said more production in Agriculture with no clear plan. He didn’t articulate his view on the forex market and the inhibitions of the devaluation. He contradicted himself by talking about reducing the cost of government but defended running a bloated cabinet and said we should mention ministers that aren’t doing well, but also said we can do more in solid minerals so why is the minster not delivering, what’s happening in the marine economy, the minster of power hasn’t ensured power, the band A system has collapsed as they hardly get power. Apart from some ministers ( a few) most are not doing well. The president also didn’t expatriate on the tax bill and sell it properly to the people when asked about VAT. The chat was low on policy and details. I repeat hope is not an empirical proposition, the president must show action and intended policy. Till date, nothing is said about the import waiver on food that failed, also the president once promised 10m hectares cultivation. He also said he will give loans to farmers, how will these policies be executed???

Governors that were against Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s plans to save money in Nigeria’s excess crude as Minister; - Rotimi Amaechi (Rivers State) - Adams Oshiomole (Edo State) - Babatunde Fashola (Lagos State) - Godswill Akpabio (Akwa Ibom State) The then Governor of Osun State, Rauf Aregbesola verbally assaulted and abused her and it took the then Vice President to caution him not to try that again. The ONLY person that supported saving was PETER GREGORY OBI!!!!! Others just wanted to SQUANDER and till date, they’re still SQUANDERING!!!!
