@DetectiveSpade_ I can say the same in reverse; there are those who say that if you liked the special, you're a fake marvel and punisher fan or that you like slop. Ultimately, this isn't anything new in a fandom when there are different opinions.

The Punisher: One Last Kill is the first time with Jon Bernthal's Punisher where the creative team doesn't lie to us with the whole "He's going to eventually be the Punisher from the comics". Instead they are straight up telling us that he's going to be a hero. I respect it.

@ivomgs I mean, critics or pundits speak based on the show's qualities and its mcu canon, they're not there to discuss whether or not it's a faithful adaptation. Ultimately, depending on your level of acceptance of what might be an adaptation, you may agree with them or not.

Just checked the #PunisherOneLastKill hashtag, and you can't trust 'specialists.' My best bet is, as always, to watch it yourself.
Especially if you have Punisher knowledge (comics) on your side and don't get caught up in the mass hysteria of MCU casuals.

He just doesn’t understand Frank, good performance and I’ll enjoy seeing him when he shows up but this reminds me why I don’t care to see him in his own stuff. I have to wonder if he ever picked up a punisher comic or just refuses to engage with the idea that Frank isn’t noble

The Punisher: One Last Kill (review & spoilers in the next posts) There was nothing "new" in this new take, we have seen bits of it during DD:BA S01, half of the runtime of the episode talks about PTSD, the action scenes are good and it's a real fight for survival. Those 12 min of action makes you forget that you had a character for 10 years without any development or progress. He still struggles the same problems he had in Daredevil season 2, Punisher season 1, 2 & DD:BA S01.
It was an ok episode. Not bad at all. But expectable.
If you can detach yourself from the comic book version, you can enjoy it. I guess, from all the movies specialists also non-comic book readers I've read, they were hysterical about this take and it's understandable.

@EggMan65557216 Their dichotomy is much deeper than kill vs no kill. The punisher is a selfish killer who murders en mass and will kill for light offenses. He is a complicated, unlikable guy, not a role model. He ruins the name of what heroes try to achieve. He’s despised by Cap, DD, etc

2. Suit? Seriously, is this your big criticism. He'll literally use it in BND; and the special narratively justifies why he doesn't use it.

If Batman was written like MCU Punisher, Joe Chill would be switched with 11 different crime families with dozens of members each and the FBI and CIA, and then he'd refuse to ever stop any villains unrelated to those groups. And he'd never wear his costume.
