Had fun with fractions today @sttcatholic. Grade 4/5 did a counting circle focusing on counting with unit fractions, using tools from @ONmathies to model thinking. Grades 8 explored @numbertalks fraction talks with visuals and grade 5/6 played @SteveWyborney’s fraction Splat!

Concrete & diagrammatic representations of integers are so important to develop a deep understanding of operations with integers. Visuals help Ss understand the WHY of algorithms. Games such as Minus Mania @gregtangmath are visual & fun practice too! @ONmathies @MLCmath @HWCDSB
