@mikoske @RoamingNorway @electricfelix Ha 🤣, I suspect the Tesla may be able to have a GPS signal or similar in tunnels. At least I see it work daily in car parks where phone internet connection fails. I guess I’ll see in less than 24 hours. And I’ll download that app as well then!

@ORuokojoki @RoamingNorway @electricfelix Yeah 😂 They have several roundabouts and roads going all directions under the city center. Maybe Tesla handles it better than my last visit with a car that had android auto 😁 For charging Elton is probably a good app to have if superchargers are too far away for convenience.

@mikoske @RoamingNorway @electricfelix Wow. Didn’t know I could get lost in tunnels, thought they are always mostly one dimensional 😅. Good to know. And yeah we have plenty of food to cook with a Trangia so should be all good on that front!

@ORuokojoki @RoamingNorway @electricfelix At least in the summer it's easy. Most shops in Lapland close quite early, so actually getting some food has sometimes been tricky. So get some snacks. Also some speed camera closer to Tromso. And don't get lost in the Tromso tunnels, they were pretty tricky without GPS!

@RoamingNorway @electricfelix Any tips I should know before driving to Tromsø tomorrow with my Model Y from Finland? Registred it at epass24 as an EV but haven’t done much else regarding the car, of course have winter tires still on.

Tesla has released a new video with @DavidMoss, highlighting his recent cross-country trip on FSD (Supervised) with zero disengagements. "Moss’s Model 3 handled every road sign, turn and Supercharger stop, traveling over 2,700 miles in 2 days and 20 hours. Part of his over 12,000-mile streak of FSD (Supervised) usage, David’s cross-country trip demonstrates the reliability, capability and ease of FSD (Supervised)."

@teslaeurope I wonder if they have to do the exhaustive testing for all future updates as well

Together with RDW, we have officially completed the final vehicle testing phase for Full Self-Driving (Supervised) and have submitted all documentation required for the UN R-171 approval + Article 39 exemptions. The RDW team is now reviewing the documentation and test results package internally. They have communicated the expected approval for Netherlands date of 4/10, shifting from 3/20 previously and we look forward to successful completion of this cooperation.  Following the Netherlands’ approval, European countries will be able to recognize this approval nationally. We are anticipating a possible EU-wide approval during the summer. Over the past 18 months, this approval has involved a series of intense documentation, development, testing, research & audits. Including but certainly not limited to: – 1,600,000+ km of FSD (Supervised) testing on EU roads – 13,000+ customer sales ride-alongs – 4,500+ track test scenario executions – Thousands of pages of written documentation for 400+ compliance requirements – Dozens of research studies into safety performance/results We're extremely proud of the work conducted with the RDW team up until this point. We very much look forward to the approval in April, and sharing FSD (Supervised) with our patient EU customers!

@LeniterFortis @SawyerMerritt Odd then that if I touch the brake pedal under 5 km/h the brakes squeal and if I lift the pedal it stops. Would also be difficult to come to such a perfect smooth stop with the friction brakes

@ORuokojoki @SawyerMerritt Sorry to be the guy to tell you this but your car automatically applies the brakes once your speed is low enough even if you don't apply them yourself. Regen braking doesn't do much once you are below a certain, unspecified speed. It's just so smooth you don't notice.

Looks like 2026 Model Ys are getting more comfortable braking with software update 2026.8. "Your Tesla now provides a smoother feel as you come to a complete stop during routine braking."

@jeffjank33 @SawyerMerritt Nope! They started squaling the first week with the new car. This is a known issue with the Juniper. Tesla only recently introduced a fix for it. No hard breaking removes it. The brakes are different

@ORuokojoki @SawyerMerritt That’s most likely because you never use them.. Brake hard a couple times and will clean the surface. I never use my brakes so I never hear them squeak but common issue as dust and oxidation can occur because they aren’t used…
