In Year 3 science this week, we have had fun exploring magnets.

After mass last Tuesday, Father was kind enough to give up his time and talk us through some important sacred altar vessels in our church. We have then used this information in our @OSJ_RE lessons this week.

Our Mothers Day assembly earlier this month was a lovely event with the children singing and speaking lines beautifully

In science, we have been looking at how shadows are created.

In RE this week, and inspired by Jesus’ miracle of feeding the 5,000, Year 3 have been designing seed packets to give out in our local community.

As part of our @OSJ_RE lessons, we created artwork in the style of Georges Seurat to show the link between breaking of bread during the feeding of the 5000, the Last Supper and the Eucharist.

Today we celebrated @WorldBookDayUK by dressing as a word and sharing a poem with the rest of KS2.

I had the privilege of taking our @OSJ_Y6 pupils to the Junior Youth Speaks competition today. Not only did they deliver their speech with a confidence beyond their years but they answered challenging questions on their chosen topic Artificial Intelligence.

Year 3 enjoyed the live lesson, the ‘vote with your feet’ activity and designing their own AI avatar. Just look at some of our amazing designs! #SaferInternetDay2026

For Internet Safety Day Year 3 took part in the BBC live lesson. We created our own avatars and then inputted prompts to make a class Internet Safety Day poster

Year 3 had fun and did an excellent job of rehearsing and performing their witch poetry for the rest of the class. 🧙‍♀️ 🧙 🧙‍♀️ 🕸 🧹

In science Y3O have been investigating reflective materials and how these help keep us safe. They then used what they have learnt to create safety jackets.

In Computing Y3O have been experimenting with stop motion animation. We created these fantastic videos in our very first lesson!

In PE we have been working on our balances

In English we have been learning about poetry. To help with understanding it’s rhythmic style we performed ‘Double, double toil and trouble’ from McBeth.

In our final art lesson of the term Y3O have been exploring how to create digital art using sketch.io

In @OSJ_RE we have made pledges thinking about how we can help others and share the light of Jesus this Christmas.

This week in English, we are looking at examples of diaries and starting to write our own. 📔

We had a great day at The Brick Community Stadium thanks to @LaticsOfficial We saw football skills in action and had a go ourselves, met Crusty, toured the stadium and played football games. ⚽️🥅
