@saraheadtt And that takes us straight to the heart of the issue. What was right for your dad at that time?

@OTAnna We said no to the bed change, they said they might not b able to care for dad. In his final hours they managed thankfully. To logistically move dad, move/throw out bed with little room causes additional worry, he didn’t want to b a burden for mum that would’ve made him feel worse

A patient died during a mattress change. They were in the last days of life and the request was for an urgent dynamic air mattress because they were “end of life”. It prompted an important reflection 🧵

Another reflection: Clinicians often seem comfortable supporting a younger dying person to remain in their own bed. Yet older people are often more quickly moved into a hospital-style set-up. Why is that?

Male health workers should be allowed to perform breast screening examinations to help relieve staff shortages. The call is from the Society of Radiographers. Mammography is the only health examination carried out exclusively by female staff. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

@sharrond62 I can absolutely confirm our phones listen as was recently discussing a book with my daughter about a 16yr old wanting to end his life and a message popped up on my phone asking if I needed help and a number to call NHS for suicide prevention 😬

Convinced our phones are listening 24:7 not good! Was talking about needing a new ladder then literally a few hours later links to ladder companies & even an email turns up in my inbox! Algorithm rule our world! It’s hard not to feel manipulated these days. Hate it. Anyone else?

@spenley Subscribed and all the best. I like the suggestion of a new show called double click. Who needs BBC now anyway. Think their licence feeing days might be a thing of the past soon!

Friends! Yesterday was very tough, but, on behalf of my mental health, thank you SO MUCH for your boundless love and kindness. It was so emotional to be reminded of how important we’ve been to so many people. Now - to the future. Would you like to stay in touch? Would you like to help me get something new up and running? I’ve been writing a free monthly newsletter for a little while - it has new tech, behind-the-scenes stories and many Click flashbacks. It’s still a work in progress, but it’s written from the heart. And I narrate it too. Would you be kind enough to subscribe? And it would mean a lot if you could repost this, so I can try for a quadrillion subscribers... (my maths tells me that should be achievable) The link to subscribe is in the reply to this tweet (to stop the algorithm suppressing it), but that link is also in the attached image. Again, thank you so much for yesterday.

@FoxleyHannah @UHSFT @theRCOT Well deserved Hannah as it’s no mean feat to adopt proportionate care in an acute setting and you and your team are proof it can be done. Huge congratulations xx
