My grandad is in hospital at the moment and I’ve come to help him with lunch. When I went to reception, I told them my grandad’s name and they had no idea who I was talking about. They then checked the system and referred to him as “B5”. My grandad is NOT his bed number. 1/2

Tomorrow marks #WorldOTDay with a theme of #OccupationalTherapy for All. Currently, OT is not safe for ‘All’. Let’s stand with our colleagues and others in Palestine, knowing that OT cannot access ‘All’ across the world.

Do you remember Mahmoud? An Occupational therapist from Gaza who started the “Tent of Hope” in Rafah/Gaza to provide OT services. He later had to shut it down &was displaced due to attacks by Israeli forces Mahmoud wrote a letter to the OT community on World OT day Plz share

It’s very likely that more people are going to die of Covid in the UK this year than will seek asylum. Apparently we’re only worried about one of these issues, and it’s the wrong one.

I’ve been so excited to come on here and announce where my final ever placement is. I am going to be spending six weeks at GREAT ORMOND STREET HOSPITAL with the inpatient feeding team!!! It really is a dream come true. Maybe one day I’ll be back as a neonatal therapist 👶🏻❤️🤞🏻

I should add that it’s not just the NHS that isn’t coping, I’m only speaking from my experience. Another clear example is teaching - classes are merging and retired teachers are being called back due to Covid-related sicknesses. There are many services that are not coping.

So many of us working in #NHS hospitals are so exhausted. Staffing is low, many of us are sick, movement within hospitals is extortionate. We can’t just manifest the idea that ‘the NHS is coping’. We’re so tired. #DowningStreetBriefing
