The problem with stories where anyone can become super strong imo is that it's hard to justify why everyone doesn't get that strong. Like One Piece telling us Koby has no talent yet through 2 years of training with sticks got to commander level makes me question why it's so rare

I respected the XPlay show back in the day because of the large number of 3/5 they gave because they also explained their scale in an episode and on their website. IIRC: 5. GOTY, even if you don't like the genre, play it. VERY FEW games got this in the early years. 4. If you're a genre fan, get it, you'll like it. Not perfect, but lots of fun. If you don't like the type (FPS vs Platformer, etc), passing makes sense, but get it if you already like the type. Decent number of games here, but not most. 3. Decent but flawed. If you're a huge fan of the series, genre, etc, you'll probably like it enough, but hardly the best either. 2. Deep flaws and casuals stay away. Specific good things exist, but the games aren't good. Maybe patched later into OK, but buyer beware. 1. Broken and/or really bad and not worth anybody's time. Lots of 3/5 from them, which is probably where most games should legitimately be sitting.
