@OVODocket what you’re doing is needed and impressive, your information had top processing systems stunned and double checking themselves. I’m just here to help enforce the fact that no matter what’s done or said, there is a paper trail. With that being said they have themselves to thank.

This post is for informational purposes only. Let’s be very clear about who first brought the law into it, tried to “silence creative expression,” and “use the label to censor artists.” This is the April 24, 2024 cease-and-desist letter from Tupac Shakur’s Estate to Drake’s attorney regarding Drake’s “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Not only is Kendrick Lamar a close friend of the Tupac Estate, he is also signed to Interscope Records which owns the distribution rights to Tupac Shakur’s music. Interscope Records is a division of UMG Recordings. • 5 days after the release of “Taylor Made Freestyle” (April 19, 2024) • 3 days before Kendrick Lamar finalized his contract with Interscope Records (April 27, 2024) • 6 days before the release of Kendrick Lamar’s “Euphoria” (April 30, 2024) Some will dismiss this as conspiracy, but to us it looks like the record label using its connections and resources to suppress one artist’s work while amplifying the other’s.

While we’re here, The Tupac estate C&D to Drake was authorized by executor Tom Whalley — the same exec who signed Tupac to Interscope in the 90s, launched a UMG joint venture under Lucian Grainge in 2012, runs Amaru Entertainment (distributed by Interscope/UMG), and is currently being sued by Tupac’s sister for allegedly embezzling $5.5M from the trust. Dates from court filings: • C&D: 4/24/24 • Kendrick’s supplemental Interscope deal: 4/27/24 • Euphoria: 4/30/24 The executor who greenlit the letter has a 12+ year business partnership with UMG’s CEO and a catalog monetized through the same label finalizing Kendrick’s deal that week. Whether the timing was coordinated is what discovery in 1:25-cv-00399 is after. The conspiracy read is weak because the structural-conflict-of-interest read is hard to dismiss on the public record. -Coincidences are for stories.

@polaropp1024 @billboard *PMC owned Billboard. “Taylor Made Freestyle” was removed from Drake’s social media on April 25, 2024. Kendrick Lamar signed his agreement with Interscope Records on April 27, 2024 .Wouldn’t be surprised if he held off on signing until it was removed. But who knows 🫠.

@_diana_salam To add even more. Not only did the Tupac Shakur Estate send this cease-and-desist letter to Drake’s attorney, they contacted the media to report it. Something that was supposed to be an email and private matter between the estate and Drake’s attorney, they made public.

to add to that, since then tupac’s likeness has been aggressively used in a disrespectful way by major AI companies with ZERO pushback from the estate. and don’t forget, that same estate gave drake’s company full access to unreleased material for tupac’s documentary “dear mama” in 2023, cause they never had a personal issue with him. so yes, somebody made a call asking them to pretend to care. and the only two parties with any interest in making that call are kendrick or UMG representing kendrick

@USBInDrakesSafe No. Tupac Shakur wrote and signed this authorization while in prison. Death Row Records CEO Suge Knight paid his bail. In exchange, Shakur signed to Death Row Records and appointed Knight as his manager. Interscope Records was the distributor for Death Row Records.

@TablesTurnBB @peakangle They’ll tell you he’s on a spiritual sabbatical in the mountains of Zimbabwe and his only method of communication is carrier pigeon. When in reality, there’s documented proof that he and his camp watch Drake’s every move and he’s always aware of the conversation around him.

Drake’s attorneys state Judge Vargas erroneously dismissed the case by relying on UMG’s subjective interpretation of the lyrics in “TaylorMade Freestyle”. They further clarify Drake’s lyrics for Court, an opportunity he should’ve been given at trial or through summary judgement.

@peakangle @DJ_0412 Once again, young girls doesn’t solely mean children, dumbass. Young girl is also defined as a young unmarried woman. The use of young girl depends on the context in which it’s used. And in this context on the Budden Podcast, Budden was referring to 25 year-old women.

@DJ_0412 @OVODocket At 37 saying “young girls” is self inflicted damage, even if he meant adults. It’s legally ambiguous, but socially it reads bad. Thank you for the question. Again I meant no malice. It’s a legit question that deserves answers not insults.

@peakangle @Alex_Jet_ It’s actually not. No one raised information about this clip in any briefs not even UMG Recordings. Not once did they reference this Budden clip in any of their defense arguments. So again, you went and found a clip to affirm your confirmation bias. Take care.

@peakangle No, you went and found a clip that affirms your confirmation bias instead of dealing in reality. Why are you assuming Kendrick Lamar didn’t hear Budden? Kendrick Lamar is chronically online and “sees everything”. A statement from Carl Chery, someone who’s known him for years.

@OVODocket It’s important legally I’m trying to learn. The clip is from Budden show how is it irrelevant? Are you saying Drake is only be referencing something Budden originated (not amplified)? Why assume Kendrick heard Budden at all when TMF alone gives him the “young girls” angle? Thanks

No, you’re not trying to learn. You’re a troll. But let’s go. You thought this was a gotcha didn’t you? 🤨 The lyrics in TaylorMade Freestyle are “Heard it on the Budden podcast so it’s gotta be true”. None of what Budden is discussing in this clip were stories, rumors or gossip first heard on the BUDDEN PODCAST. But you know what was first heard on the Budden podcast? Joe’s bogus narrative that Drake is a creep or his music should be discredited because he’s 37 and dates 25 year-old women. Budden was pushing that narrative in the days and weeks after “For All The Dogs” released and there were many viral posts seemingly agreeing with Budden’s statement. Drake addressed Budden directly for that reason. None of what Budden discusses in this clip was new information exclusively heard on the Budden podcast. That stage act video was from 2010 and the Millie Bobby Brown interview clip was from 2018. Neither of which are pedophilia. They resurfaced and had been circulating on social media since “Like That” was released. Even before Drake responded there were viral posts encouraging Kendrick Lamar to use that narrative. Budden himself got that talking point from the social media like he does for many of his talking point on his podcast. Lastly, young girls doesn’t solely mean children, dumbass. Young girl is also defined as a young unmarried woman. The use of young girl depends on the context in which it’s used. And in THIS context on the BUDDEN PODCAST, BUDDEN was referring to 25 year-old women.

@OVODocket How do we reconcile this with the clip released just days before Taylor Made Freestyle? What basis do we have for concluding which clip he meant? I’m Trying to learn. Thanks 🙌

@OVODocket could bot the older music of Drake which dont hurt them as they got the money. However it gives them a arguement example to show what they tried to do which is push defamatory content DID NOTHING TO DRAKE based on his stream numbers and older music "SUDENLY" charting BACK UP.

@kebomoney20 @Alex_Jet_ @DanielD98644564 You’re right. Seems like Joe’s goal with the release of every Drake project is to convince the audience to hate it and hate Drake. He’s miserable. If it’s about music then keep it on music. Trying to plant the seed that someone’s a predator is where any man would draw the line.
