DeFi’s greatest curse has always been liquidity fragmentation. In Aave V3, liquidity is strictly sandboxed. If you deposit USDC on Polygon, that capital sits in a localized silo, completely disconnected from an Ethereum or Base borrower who desperately needs it. This inefficiencies force lower yields for suppliers and higher costs for borrowers. Aave V4 completely shatters these silos via the Unified Liquidity Layer (ULL) and Cross Chain Liquidity Layer (CCLL). Here is exactly how the protocol abstracts away the infrastructure layer: 1.
