They should be written in such a way that their beating flash is BELIEVABLE, not something that "just happens"

You don't need to match someone's power to have a compelling conflict that doesn't compromise consistency.

(1/3) Last word on the powerscaling debacle - the thesis is that both writer and audience have to be able to track the relative levels of various kinds of power available to characters in order to ground the stakes of any conflict (of any kind).
You have to ‘scale’ ‘power’.

The key to understanding “Media/Content Fandom Enjoyers” is that they view fiction as a literal transcription of events that took place in the fictional world. There is no such thing as author’s intent, cultural context, narrative and themes, etc. there is just “what happened”.
