@underworld_09 The problem with that suit is that the 2022 electoral act as amended only empowers a contestant of a particular election to challenge either the qualification of a candidate or the outcome. The said lawyers were never among the Guber primary election. I doubt if it fly.

Wike’s Gubernatorial Choice Hon. Chinda In A Big Twist; — APC may not have a gubernatorial candidate in Rivers in 2027 Rivers State politics is gradually turning into one of the biggest political dramas ahead of 2027. The legal battle surrounding Kingsley Chinda’s emergence as the APC governorship candidate may create a deeper constitutional crisis for the party in Rivers State if not urgently addressed. Here is the major question political observers are asking: How can a serving Minority Leader of the House of Representatives under the PDP suddenly emerge as APC governorship candidate while still occupying a leadership position meant for an opposition party member? According to reports, lawyers have already approached the Federal High Court in Abuja, challenging his participation in the APC primary and seeking his disqualification from the 2027 governorship election. The suit reportedly argues that: • Chinda’s alleged movement from PDP to APC did not comply with provisions of the Electoral Act. • His continued stay as Minority Leader raises questions about dual party affiliation. • His House of Representatives seat could even face legal scrutiny if defection procedures were not properly followed. If the courts eventually rule against him, APC could face a major political setback in Rivers State, especially considering the tension already surrounding the state’s political structure. One thing is becoming clear: The Rivers political crisis is far from over. With Wike’s camp, Fubara’s camp, APC interests, PDP loyalists and multiple legal battles all colliding at once, 2027 may become one of the most dramatic governorship contests in Nigeria’s recent political history.

Imo presidential primaries was nothing but a backdoor, smoke-filled selection. We call it what it is, a shadowy charade, not an election, and demand for a complete, transparent, and inclusive rerun, or else the process is dead on arrival.

GENERAL YAKUBU GOWON AND POPE LEO XIV. Only a few days ago Yakubu Gowon wrote and published a Memoir of his life in which he detailed his roles in the Biafra war, excoriating everyone but himself in what many consider a revisionist attempt by a man who was front-and-center and instrumental in the creation of the war, and superintended its heinous outcome. Gowon exonerated himself in all the atrocities of that war, admitting little or no guilt or wrongdoing, and failing to apologize to what many consider to be the worse genocide committed by any group of people in the entire human race. A few days after Gowon’s indignant display, The Pope of the Catholics boldly issued an apology to the victims of slavery; crimes committed hundreds of years ago in which the Catholic Church was complicit and culpable. The Pope said sorry, but the all mighty Gowon has no contrition, no remorse and no shame for the dastardly acts he committed; that he planned, sanctioned and executed — the killing of millions of innocent people in Biafra. The essential thesis of this short note, is that the most brutal acts of Gowon have become a watershed of his life, and that instead of its history being a soothing balm in the domain of the past, softening our memories, it has become a dangerously loathsome reminder of his past and the fetid outcomes. Drawing a contrast between these two men and the institutions that they emerge from, I wonder how their dispersed actions might affect our consciousness … I wonder also if we could truly say without hesitation, that, “All is well with us, and that our children and their children’s children are well.” The cycle of the crimes of Biafra, just like those of slavery have left deep scars on the victors and the vanquished, more so on the victims, and robbing us all of our humanity. To remain truly human, no man can gain anything from the horrors, the pain and the suffering of those they oppress. And, what must be most painful is to not admit our failure and refuse to repent, confess and seek restoration and restitution. This is not a review of Gowon’s book - that job is in the domain of so many other writers and pundits. It is also not a rebuke of the man himself, because that judgement is reserved for God in whose domain Gowon will soon be. My advocacy is that we must TELL THE WORLD THE TRUTH always. Let us abhor the diminishment and condescension of telling not the Truth. Let us FEAR GOD. The trauma and the tragedy of Biafra when told properly, will help to lay the foundation needed to ensure the truth and the future of our country by guaranteeing the evolution of our society’s prosperity and stability. Okey Anueyiagu.

The South is beginning to irritate me with the entitlement we are seeing from our leaders from that zone . This is exactly what I was singing to these leaders at the beginning of the coalition that all of them should go back to their zones to mobilize to ADC. Imagine if Rotimi Amaechi had mobilized 20% of southerners of voting age to the ADC while the window was opened , will he be complaining of the untenable excuses he is giving today ? When Atiku was mobilizing and having sleepless nights attending meetings and making calls nationwide to bring people into ADC, would you expect those who came to the party on the back and shoulder of Atiku to vote for Amaechi or Hayatudeen ? Please , people should always take any and every assignment giving to them very seriously cuz it might come to hunt or favor you . ADC primaries as witnessed nationwide was the most organized, peaceful and devoid of rancor party primaries have ever seen in the last 10yrs . How they got it so organized and peaceful nationwide remains a mystery to me and other Nigerians ROTIMI AMAECHI should not be used the way Peter Obi was cunned and deceived to leave ADC cuz it will not be a good decision for him at this point in time and no one will respect him again cuz he will be seen as transactional politician . When you fail to plan you plan to fail ! You refused or deliberately or overtly didn’t mobilize enough to cover your back and you want those who joined the party on Atiku’s request and hard-work to vote for you ? Haba !!!! Bro, you failed to realize that people you bring to the table will reserve a seat , a golden plate and spoon for you even in your absence . Please we don’t need any issue or drama in ADC going forward and I want to appeal to my dear brother Rotimi Amaechi to work with the party as a party man to rescue this country .
Chibuike R. Amaechi@ChibuikeAmaechi

I REJECT THE CONCOCTED RESULTS OF THE ADC PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARIES Following reports of widespread voter disenfranchisement in most parts of the country during the African Democratic Congress (ADC) Presidential Primaries yesterday, I unequivocally reject the concocted results being announced. I had initially stated that I will only accept the outcome of the Primaries if the process was free, fair, and transparent, and I stand by my word. I will not accept results from a process that does not reflect the values that the ADC had pledged to uphold, to rescue Nigerians from the impunity and gross mismanagement that our country is currently facing in the hands of the ruling party. There’s no way that about eighty percent of members of the party were not allowed to vote, and you expect me to accept such results. Then what makes us different from the others? The whole idea of the ADC was to give the Nigerian people a platform, to amplify the voices of the downtrodden, and make Nigeria a better place for everyone irrespective of backgrounds, ethnicity, or religion. A party that criticizes the ruling APC and INEC for vote buying, rigging and writing of results, cannot be engaged in vote buying, writing of results, and other electoral malpractices that leads to the disenfranchisement of voters who are party members. This is not acceptable! - Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi

WHO IS AFRAID OF PRIMARIES? Election is not won by social media propaganda nor by orchestrated smear campaign. Election is won by engaging electorate one wishes to serve respectfully and with empathy and compassion. My dear FCT Residents, especially those who are registered members of our great party Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) let’s remain focused first, on the number one priority of promoting our great party and secondly on choosing candidates that will best represent us. The time of voting or making choices out of fear is gone. This time we will make our choices out of courage and belief in the mantra: POWER BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE! To my teeming supporters across the FCT do not be deterred, continue your ground work across the 62 wards. We are ready to meet them on the primaries ground! Let me repeat, WHO IS AFRAID OF PRIMARIES? #AishaForSenate #AishaForBetterFCT

LET US BE HONEST! This woman, Barr. Amanda Pam is far more rooted in FCT politics over the years than Aisha Yesufu. She knows her way around FCT voters. Go and read her profile or CV. While I support Aisha Yesufu's ambition and the Obidient sensation also backs her drive, it is important to state that Amanda Pam may win Aisha in a direct primaries; not for anything else but because of the fact that Amanda Pam came early into the party and has established party structures in FCT as well as facilitated reasonable membership registration. The fact that we like Aisha Yesufu doesn't mean we should cast aspersions on other Aspirants who don't fall within our emotional orbit. You don't even know the capacity of this woman but you want to crucify her for vying for the same ticket with your celebrity. A young party like the NDC cannot survive this individualistic approach most of you are promoting. It's either you support the party or you go elsewhere. By Thursday or Friday, we would know who has been given a ticket or not.

@DrKalu_ Then Egwu reached an agreement with the founding fathers team to hand over to them n that was why Elechi didn't contest in 2003. Afterwards, Elechi handed over to him in agreement with the founding fathers . That's the politics that played out then. Egwu really worked for Ebonyi

@DrKalu_ It was agreed that one of the founding fathers of Ebonyi State should be the governor. But Anyim Pius and other Abuja PDP men refused n projected Egwu against Elechi who was the candidate of the founding fathers. Then the election ended in faourof Egwu.

Do you know that it was Chief Martin Elechi who contested against Dr. Sam Egwu in the very first governorship election held in Ebonyi State on January 9, 1999? In that historic election, Dr. Sam Egwu of the PDP won with 272,559 votes, while Chief Martin Elechi of the APP pulled 213,106 votes. It was a straight two-horse race. No third party was on the ballot. It was simply Elechi versus Sam Egwu. However, in 2003, Chief Elechi did not bother to come out again. Instead, the contest was between Dr. Sam Egwu and several others, with Lawrence Nwuruku of the ANPP emerging as the major challenger and second runner-up to Egwu. Dr. Sam Egwu won that election with 768,674 votes, while Lawrence Nwuruku got just 18,094 votes. That was Egwu’s second term. Then, in 2007, Dr. Sam Egwu handed over power to Chief Martin Elechi. Maybe there was an understanding or agreement between Elechi and Egwu after that first 1999 election that made Elechi step back during Egwu’s second-term bid. And years later, Egwu may have fulfilled it by supporting Elechi to become governor in 2007. I love Ebonyi state.

Dear NDC @NigeriaNDCHQ , What is the story that has been making headlines on social media that your leadership has chosen the woman in the photo Sen Seriake Dickson as the FCT senatorial candidate over Aisha Yusuf and Co..? I don't really the woman but I'm worried as to her political capacity to go shoulder to shoulder with APC candidate backed by Wike.. With all due respect, is this mama not in the same age bracket with Atiku and Tinubu? Will she be able to face the rigour of electioneering and other demanding issues around Nigeria politics today.. Please let's review this decision once more if it's true as alleged.. We need a candidate that is fit enough to jump with us. Thank you
